Pioneer exec implies Bluetooth iPod adapter
So apparently Pioneer's shooting their mouth off about their new DEH car stereo system with Bluetooth, which apparently will work wonderfully with the Bluetooth adapter they claim Apple has planned for the iPod. Something tells us that a Pioneer spokesman by the name of Michael Broadhurst either a) doesn't have the kind of access to the information he thinks he does on this one, or b) is about to get in a whole lot of trouble. Either way, we'd wager Pioneer's about to sell some of those $1000 DEH-9850BTs and $800 DEH-P7850BTs to those who think they might be able to get it going wireless with their little white friend, and as always we remain one step behind the elusive wireless / Bluetooth iPod.[Via MacRumors]

Is it me or engadget is slower than gizmodo at getting news out early?

Does anyone know if those Pioneer DEH car stereos will be only for bluetooth iPods or will they work with any bluetooth device - like my V3i RAZR with iTunes?

Anyone that gives out info before Apple anounces it should prepare for the end. Those Apple guys are more vindictive than... well you get the point.

Is there a reason these stereos won't work with the Jabra A125S?

I have the DEH-980BT and it has bluetooth built in. It has an option that you can use a bluetooth device as an audio player. So to answer your question Todd, yes you can use your RAZR's iTunes with the stereo.
Also, the units listed in the article are from Australia and are not available (as of now) in the U.S. The I have is the top of the line bluetooth model and costs $570.

My 980BT doesn't work woth a damn with my tmo MDA. I have to manually connect via the headunit. Music works, but I have to manually connect from the phone. Pioneer blames the phone. TMO blames Pioneer. An iPOD BT adapter could be neat. But the iPOD adapter for the 980BT is cheap and works.
