Yeah, we're kicking it here with our
Joystiq pals in beautiful Redmond, Washington for a weekend of rubbing shoulders with the game-nerd elite. PAX's 17,000+ attendees this year are bursting the Meydenbauer Center at the seams, which means exhibitors like Microsoft can't quite have their
usual sprawl of a booth. Luckily, they're moving the show -- which is now the biggest games show in North America thanks to the demise of E3 -- to downtown Seattle at the Washington State Convention Center next year, so hopefully the claustrophobic among us will be able to manage a step through a booth in '07. Keep reading for pics of the setup, and start saving your pennies for next year's extravaganza.

Am I the only one who doesn't like their space-age green branding colors?
Brian @ Aug 26th 2006 9:53PM
It wasn't all that exciting.
Brian @ Aug 26th 2006 9:53PM
The reason you don't see any screen shots is because there wasn't anything worth showing!
bigbeefe @ Aug 26th 2006 10:08PM
Come on man I'm sure Lego Star Wars II is gonna be TIGHT!
ackondro @ Aug 26th 2006 11:08PM
he reason they don't show many games is because the photographs the SHOW NOT THE GAMES(Look at the title??)
I suggest you go to another article or site if you want to see screenshots of upcoming games
also I am glad to see that the giant E3 will continue in some form for me to visit in upcoming years
i also like the green Xbox color theme but would prefer an nice blue option for variety
also LOTS of good games are coming out for the microsoft consoles this next year

Good games? Seriously???
Maybe just decent, I waiting for any gaming system let alone xbox to just come out with an AWESOME title!
Think Mario, think Sonic, think Madden, Think Halo...
When is the last time a major title was relased that turned the entire gaming worlds head? maybe Halo i dunno but we need another ground breaking type game or consoles might just lose me.

Wow, I've learned more about Pax here than at Joystiq, which is posting dribble about things people said.
I still have no clear idea about what this show is or what happpens, but now it's the largest show?? Weird. Am I the only one in the dark about this mysterious show?
Yem @ Aug 27th 2006 7:46PM
n2: Nothing mysterious about it.
PAX started as a LAN

with a broader than usual focus, to include table-top gaming

speakers and vendor exhibits. That's all.

I mean no offense, but PAX was in Downtown Bellevue, not Redmond. Downtown Redmond is like, 8 miles away, downtown Seattle is 11 miles. Just because Microsoft shows up somewhere in Washington doesn't make that place Redmond.
