Clearly there's one niche market that the über-rich must have been clamoring for to the appliance manufacturers of the world: how to combine a fridge with obscene amounts of shinyness? Fear not, Gorenje UK, the British division of a company from <strike>the former Yugoslavia</strike> Slovenia, has developed an extremely limited line of
refrigerators (known appropriately as "The Eye-Catchers") lined with rows upon rows of
Swarovski crystals (7,000 to be precise). Act now kids, because Gorenje is only making 10 of these, and they retail for £10,000 (nearly $19,000). For that price, the combined 331 L (87.4 gallons) capacity fridge-freezer also comes with a radio receiver, a "cookery book" (we assume that's a cookbook), voice messages and a voice alarm. You can catch a glimpse of one of these on the company's website, and at
Harrods in London. This fridge too rich for you? Don't worry, there's a budget model priced at only £1400 -- but it only comes with 3500 crystals, so really, what's the point of that? More photos on the flip side.

uhhh does anyone know how I could get this thing shipped to canada?
I just love storing my ice within an ice box coated in ice, when there its icey outside.
Man, it's going to take forever to the mustard off those crystals! 331 L, why? The Brits always make these products so small, you have to shop everyday. You'd think if you can afford a fridge like this you might actually have some room in your kitchen for a real one, however, a chopped-down version might look good in the bar.
What are the voice messages? "Hi, I'm Bob, I'll be your fridge today." Gods, please don't tell me it will do that confusing thing with "A door is ajar!" "Warning! Warning, five times today -- you'll get fat!" "You must remove a carrot with that Cake -- I know best, I'm your fridge!" "Bio-hazard Warning! Do not open this door -- there are things growing in here!" Will it answer the eternal question of life? "The door is closed and the light is out."
Humph, manual ice and no water, I expect. Next you'll tell me the cookbook doesn't know what's in the fridge so it keeps suggesting things that you can't make. Where's the bar scanner? Why, oh why bother?

$4000 Fridge: Keeps things cold.
$19000 Fridge: It -really- keeps things cold.
is this thing iced out or what
Slovenia split from Yugoslavia more than 15 years ago. I think it's time to stop referring to it as a country from former Yugoslavia.
I agree with that. It has been fully recognized country for a long time.
it makes my dookie twinkle
These have been around for some time in continental Europe. I've seen one in RL and I can tell you the craftsmanship is surprisingly bad. From afar the crystals are nice but once you get close you see that they are misaligned and sloppy.
If you still plan on buying one first take a look yourself so you don't spend 19k
I had no idea you could bedazzle a fridge.

Seeing the first photo, I thought it was an uber-PC case. Hmmm, a $19K refrigerated case for my PC, and I can put beers in it ? Sounds like a deal !
