PSP GPS and camera add-ons launching next month?

Although as yet there's no confirmation from Sony, it's looking increasingly likely that the official launch of the GPS and camera peripherals for the PSP will take place at the Tokyo Games Show on September 22. If the rumors are correct, then TGS will play host to information about the specs, pricing, and availability for the two mystical peripherals. Now we have something more than just the possibility of pretty, but pointless, leaked shots to look forward to, and it's about time: we first heard rumors about an official Sony-branded PSP GPS device way back at E3 '04.

I hope soon nintendo can launch a digital camera for the nintendo ds, touch screen controls with use of a camera would be killer on a ds. I wonder is anybody ever going to buy a psp gps or psp digital camera, I know strong supports of the psp like homebrew fans and hip hop casual gamers wont buy this, but I hope they do just to keep the psp a float.

ds is garbage it usnt even a competition. #1 psp games actually have graphics. Ds games are colorful dots arranged.#2 ds games are for people like my 5 year old cousin. Mario is a fagot plumber. Compare that to tony cipriani from gta liberty city stories. I dont want to hear another word about ds vs. psp it isnt even a competiotion.
P.S. If the WII has nintendo like games its not worth buying.

A PSP with a Hard drive or flash drive would be awesome. PSP2 perhaps? I think the PSP is a great machine.. I get to play SSX on the ski bus!! :)

It's funny, that you mention that touch screen controls would be great for a camera.

You'd think touch screen controls would be great for web browsing too, but somehow they screwed that up.

I like the DS and the PSP both, but unfortunately, both are FAR from perfect.

You're right - screw those stupid DS and DS Lite numbers, the PSP is the best system on the market! It's doing great! Forget about how Target took UMDs off shelves, or how the only games that people play on it are hacked. Let's forget about how expensive it is, or how short the battery life is, or how crappy the analog "stick" is, or how many dead pixels the average one has right out of the box. All that doesn't matter, I completely agree with you. I truly am an idiot.

People want to use PSP for everything but playing UMD, so this is a step in the right direction.

Other steps in the right direction
- more and better games
- coupons for free or under 5 dollar UMD movies when you buy a regular DVD

You're an idiot. The PSP isn't dead. Look at the numbers sold and then we'll talk. Comparing it to the DS might make it look unsuccessful but it's number are still real good for a handheld. How many times a day do you try and have sex with your Xbox360? Just curious.

Did I ever say that the PSP was the best system on the market? No. You make one outrageous statement after another. A system can sell less than its competitor and still compete. Look at the PS2 vs. Xbox. Sony sold millions more and Xbox and it still had a good cycle, just like the PSP. You still haven't answered my only question. How many times have you tried to shove your skinny dick into that XBOX360 cd drive of yours?

You are right, in comparison to the DS, it is not the hottest handheld as far as sales go, but at least it is still a blip on the radar. Which is better than most handhelds do against Nintendo.

Is it dead? No, definitely not. It's not the best product out there, but I enjoy it more and play it more than my DS, and that's not hacked stuff I'm talking about.

The add-on's can only add more functionality to the handheld, which, when they aimed for it to be a multimedia machine, is a good thing.

If sony is smart, they will make it have a certain design where it folds on to the back. That way, it won't be an ugly, sticking out, cylinder. I mean really! Might as well put a thing of chapstick on top of my psp. Sony, PLEASE don't release it like that!

WOW, there are still fanboys??!? LOL! I Love both of my DSLite and PSP; they both have good and crappy games. So far the only good games and different for DS is AC:WW and Brain Age (the rest are just typical remakes of all the nintendo games); as for PSP Lumines and MGA2 (the rest are just remakes of all the PS games).

I honestly believe these gadgets are stupid no doubt. Who the hell needs a GPS..... seriously! What are you gonna do loose yourself sitting while playing games. As for the camera, I figure its for future Eyetoy games??!? Well, it won't be so fun when you see your PSP go bye bye when someone steals it b/c you left it from a distance so the camera can see you.

But Sony was not the only maker that made stupid gadgets. Nintendo made their barely functioning Web-browser. LMAO, I remember when DS fanboys kept saying how the touch screen would kick ass for browsing.... it would if it actually WORKED!! Also, can someone tell Nintendo to stop making CARTRIDGE UPGRADES!!

At least we can all say that XBOX is dead. Good thing I sold mine..... Wii and PS3 is coming... "real" systems.
