Alright Treoheads, gather round for a new set of Treo 750 pics. Yes, they're all coming out of the woodwork these days. (And here we thought the scratching under the house was raccoons?)
I love my 650, but it has its shortcomings. From the pics I've seen, this thing won't address those. My NEXT smart phone will have: WiFi, a USB port that will charge the phone (and work as USB host and/or mass-storage), and a REAL headphone jack.
Hurray!! The card slot's got a cover! Boo... It's on the side, which means no skin case. Mini-SD means new cards. SD was just too big, I guess?
You know, I'd be fine with the thickness of my 650...if it had a hard drive. Why not?
The really question is the display windows mobile supports 240x240 and 480x480 but not 320x320 so which will it be 240x240 like everything else... or 480x480
phones with wifi would not be picked up by any of the phone networks, cause they want you to pay for their internet. So most phones will not integrate wifi.
"Even though the slot is a mini-sd, I found mini-sd cards that come with an SD card adapter on newegg.com for $36.99, for the 1GB size, so at least I can use them in two kinds of devices."
FWIW, I just got a 2GB mini-SD card (Kingston brand) from Buy.com for $39 (after an $11 rebate). It also came with the full size SD card adapter (I think they all do).
What a let down. I think the Treo 700 looks right (even with the antenna), if only they kept that form and not tried to make it look like a blackberry. The suggested screen resolution still far too low and makes surfing a real pain. When will manufacturers wake up and introduce pdas with sim card slots? For me a pda with vga screen and bluetooth phone still the best bet.

James, Just snap a few pix with your cam fone and post them here of the Palm OS 750, and you'll win a free cookie!
I'll gladly take my Treo 650 over this, especially if they add wi-fi. I had a phone with wi-fi and I never used the feature. I have a laptop to search the internet, but then again I'm only on the net for about 2 hours a day because I have an outside job.
I was a big fan of of the Palm OS a few days ago, until I got the XV6700. Having wi-fi is now essential for me. The XV6700 does everything that I want, but couldn't do with the 650. My point is, I like the looks of this phone, but without Wi-Fi, it's dead to me. Windows Mobile rocks, and I do like the Treo form, the XV6700 is great, but I question how long I can keep opening and closing it before it breaks.
Even though the slot is a mini-sd, I found mini-sd cards that come with an SD card adapter on newegg.com for $36.99, for the 1GB size, so at least I can use them in two kinds of devices.

Does anyone know if/when Verizon will get this thing. Or whether they will get the 700wx?
kelly @ Aug 30th 2006 12:03PM
I'm calling photoshop since none of the pictures show the windows mobile powered 750 rebooting... can't be real :)

Palm OS bites !!!

This sort of reminds me of the HTC meteor or whatever un-voweled acronym they are using these days.

I don't think this will feat wi-fi.
look at the icons on the screenshot; unless wi-fi was powered off we should see an indicator there. too bad :(

I concur. Verizon for a fact, will never offer phones that support wi-fi. They don't even support the bloody transfer of files via bluetooth!

They already do! XV6700 and Samsung i730 both support wifi.

Anybody have an older Treo 600/650/700 they want to sell? I'm still looking for my first. I have Cingular, so I'd need it to be compatible.
