This being a
digital picture frame, we're sure you don't need much introduction. What's new is that
Philips is trumping their previous
7-incher with this new 9-inch PhotoFrame, giving you that much more LCD real estate for displaying embarrassing childhood memories and too-cute family moments. The frame also ups the ante with dual card readers, we suppose to allow for intense memory card hot-swap action. There's also a little bit of internal memory if you want to be boring about it. The frame comes in a "Modern" and "Classic" design (we figure we're looking at the mod version here), and both can of course be wall mounted. No word on price or availability, but we're sure you'll be able to get in on the action soon enough.

Monitor frame looks like that of the old iMac G4. Lovely.

Cute idea. Probably too expensive for me to think about really (though, I admit to being sick of printing photos to stick in frames).

I'd buy it.

My wife gave me the 7" version for my bday last month...it is great. You only load up the card every once in a while, which is not a big pain. Bigger would be better, quite obviously.

amazon has a philips 9" listed at $249 but shows a simple metal bezel.

Meh, I'll let my Chumby do it -- whenever that happens!

Why cant someone do a digital frame with network connectivity so it can pull my photos off the net?
How hard would it be to add a USB for wi-fi or ethernet port?
Jeffrey @ Sep 6th 2006 9:01AM
That one looks even better than the old ones. Unfortunately, the 9" is not being mentioned on Philips' Photo Frame website (http://www.consumer.philips.com/photoframe/) yet...
I wonder what they wil cost...
Jeffrey @ Sep 7th 2006 8:04AM
@jamesa:
According to the Philips website, this one has 'A USB connector built into the device, for easy and quick reading or downloading photos from most cameras or PCs.'

Where can I buy this 9" gadget? Looks idea for a gift to grandmom
Hannes @ Apr 30th 2007 2:12AM
I do not know wheter they came up with a 9" frame. It is really an unusual size. Normally, the 8" is the best for viewing digital photos.

Available NOW...at Sharper Image $ 250.00
Phillips web site will not have any mention of this new model till November

This is a slick device that my wife has always wanted to buy. We
finally took the plunge and bought the 8 inch model. The software for
transferring images from a PC to the frame is pretty poor. Here is a
detailed write-up of what I had to do:
