HP gets into the 30-incher ring with Dell, Apple
HP announced today the debut of its first 30-inch diagonal monitor, the LP3065, making us feel like our favorite 30-inch Dell monitors were yesterday's news. The web is sparse on details at this point, but you can bet it'll require a DVI-D dual link graphics card and will support 2560 x 1600 pixels. VARBusiness also pipes in, fresh from an HP event today in New York that the monitor will sport an 8-ms response time. PC World also adds in a blog post today the monitor will go for an estimated $2000 on November 1 that unlike HP's rivals Dell and Apple, HP is going goth on this one, sans metallic accents. Plus as a cherry on top, the monitor's LED will turn off after 15 seconds, allowing you to bask yourself in incandescent glory and not be asthetically distracted by soft lime green ugliness. (Sorry for the pic of the LP2065 -- we couldn't get a pic of the LP3065 in time.)[Via PC World]

2000 $?
i'm a poor guy, i'll stick with my projector..
You gots a per-jek-tor?
You's already lucky.
Yea, projectors ain't exactly cheap. Besides, I am more than satisfied to see an alternative to Dell and their higher prices and lackluster support, and Apple, with their higher prices, underhanded marketing tactics to the less tech intelligent, lackluster support and superficial design.
HP has trailed as of recent years, down to merely pushing their outstanding printers and Walmart PC's just to make end's meat. I hope this works for them. I see it as a comeback.
i like big screens and i cannot lie, you other brothers can't deny, when a screen walks in with an itt-bitty case and thirty inches in your face you get...
Now HP is doing miracles? Turning ends into meat, now I'd like to see ol' Stevie do that.
@Jason P: HAHAHA! Good one...
HP...I bought one of their 3-in-1 printers last year in a rush for something cheap and simple. I have to say that I wasn't disappointed. My dad won't touch anything HP with a 10-foot pole, but I see a lot of young people with them in their bedrooms or dorm rooms. So maybe HP will get some customers there from brand recognition. Their printers are cute, by the way. Nothing too scary/intimidating looking like some of the Canons I've seen...
It's from HP? No thanks. They've joined the ranks of Sony in my "no longer buying their crap" list.

HP.. I am looking hard at their monitors and TV's..their printers have been the standard for over a decade now! I know their computers are nothing to brag about but I build my own..like most of you I would guess and I don't trust ANYONE else to build my computer..I want it MY way.. so HP Dell etc..forget it.. HP though has good track record for reliability as I have seen it from working on them.. I know some that have been in service for FAR too long now! LOL.. Some people need to stop being cheap and go build a GOOD computer!
