GPS,
Navman drops four new GPS devices
Navman is bumping the specs and shortening the names of its GPS units, with the F20, N20, N40i and N60i (pictured) set to launch this fall. All four look to be relatively minor updates, with each getting a built-in camera for use with Navman's Navpix service as standard issue, as well as an upgrade to the SiRFstarIII chipset, TeleAtlas 2006 maps, and Navman's latest software interface (as seen on the iCN750 and iCN720). While Navman itself seems to be staying mum on these for now, with not so much as a mention on its website, some European retailers already look to be taking pre-orders for 'em, with prices coming in between €249.99 and €499.99 ($318 and $635).

They dropped them? Were they carrying too many at once perhaps? Too heavy?
PLEASE, stop using "drop" to mean "releases". Most of your readers in the English speaking world take drop in this context to mean "no longer produces".
This is an informative, interesting and enjoyable techology news site. Stop trying to be so cool, it's really turning me (and lots of others, judging by past comments on the same subject) off your site.

While I am not as sensitive to the "drop" issue, I am sensitive to Navman's usage of TeleAtlas maps if they come to the States, as Navteq maps are superior for North America.
Here's my thought on the "drop" word:
I think it's ok to say "New Navman GPS device drops".
But "Navman drops new GPS device" is bad because it has a different meaning.
I third this. And continue to comment this. This is especially confusing in RSS headlines. It always makes me think, they got rid of something.
I'm just happy whenever they don't use the phrase "deets"... all other slang is fine by me.

What's up with the www.gpspassion.com photo, but link to Mobilewhack. A bit schizophrenic are we?
Drop the "drop"
