AT&T, MobiTV team up for broadband TV service
AT&T and MobiTV have announced a new service for getting broadcast TV on your broadband-connected PC, though it doesn't look like it'll quite replace your cable or satellite service just yet. AT&T Broadband TV, as it's known, will give you some twenty channels for $20 a month, and is open to anyone with a broadband connection, not just AT&T subscribers (though they'll get some exclusives). Among the initial offerings are The History Channel, The Weather Channel, Bloomberg, and Oxygen, as well as the Fox News Channel, which happens to be one of those AT&T exclusives. Unfortunately, the service isn't quite available to everybody -- it's limited not just to Windows, but to Internet Explorer as well (and to residents of the United States on top of that). If that suits your fancy, you can sign up for a free 14-day trial immediately, though it's not clear when the complete service will launch.[Via Yahoo News/AP]

I think the MobiTv is great. Oh, and for all you lefties filled with hatred. (so typical) The truth does hurt doesn't it!! Its ok, whine and cry is what you do best. Go Fox!

Horrible selection of channels...It's nice to see something like this finally comming out though...This with good channels, combined with rss support for vlogs , and maybe like a custom channel maker or something would rock...
Brian @ Sep 12th 2006 8:53PM
Horrible selection indeed. Let's all make way for our neocon overlords at Faux News.

Total rip off for what you get.

you mean people would actually pay to sit still in front of that stuff? Broadband should be about new content. I'd rather watch youtube in HiDef.
phasetrip @ Sep 12th 2006 9:54PM
I will stick with my slingbox. Why would I want to watch anything other than my local sports and channels (currently living out of the country). This is going to S U C K ! ! !

Everybody hates the guy on top. Go Fox News!

How much extra does it cost not to have Fox News?

On the news this morning: "AT&T to offer 20 TV channels for PC viewing" at http://blog.americasnewstoday.com/2006/09/12/att-to-offer-20-tv-channels-for-pc-viewing.aspx

Whatever you like it or not, ratings don't lie - Fox News is #1
Jordan @ Sep 13th 2006 8:11AM
It should be false advertising to call it Fox "News" ...
Maybe Fox Spin, or Fox Agenda.
docbrown88 @ Sep 13th 2006 2:09PM
If they make this Mac compatible, this could be a good compliment to those who want to pursue the iTunes method of TV consumption, and ditch their Cable provider (when the iTV or whatever it's called comes out).
BTW (and OT), why are some ppl so offended by news coverage that actual is, for the most part, fair and balanced? You can stick w/your CNN/ABC/CBS biased liberal innuendo and song-and-dance, or watch the admitedly less attractive folks on Fox who by and large tell it like it is. Don Henley sang it best - "Dirty Laundry".
BarnesX @ Dec 15th 2006 11:15AM
Here, Here!!
I total agree with docbrown88, I have watched both Fox and CNN and Fox is fair and balanced. CNN on the other hand is biased crap.

you are relaying to me that you can't verify my account. I have been with mobitv since I think October, and I just got my bank statement, and just like the last few months, deducted from my bank. I have had some problems with the login and launch button not appearing on my screen for viewing, and some stream problems, however, you have been paid, so please, I need to view my fox cable news. Thanks- sandy

What do you want in mobile TV? Are you PC, MAC and/or cell/pda?

These people are crooks not to mention the service sucks.
We signed up for the 90 day trail period and opt out after our first try. They billed us anyway and refuse to give us credit for what we've been billed.
I would stay as far away from this service as possible. I wish I had.
