You didn't think we'd leave you without some accompanying videos, now do you? Dave shot some sweet videos of unboxing the new
TiVo Series3, the new TiVo bootup sequence, and going through all the new high def video modes. Definitely a must see for TiVo fans whose staid boxes have changed very little in the past few years. Enjoy!

The links work extremely well for me.

Ah it looks great!
Though the narrator in that third video is a HUGE nerd. That's some serious Revenge quality nerdiness.
Very lucky though, I'll give him that.

He looks like a kid on Christmas day when opening the Tivo box... hehe :)

I will admit..that opening sequence is AWESOME! Still not worth $799 plus $12.95/month though... :)

i admit that a HD tivo would be nice, as would improved interface et all, but do people really care this much about tivo as to enjoy those boring-ass videos i just subjected myself to?
i dont really see the point. i though (assumed) it was a video of the radical changes in the newest Tivo interface or something..... but it's just some tool setting up his box?
yawn!

I like to see videos similar to this. You can really see what your getting. Plus, I'll be in the market for one in about 6 months or so. Whenever I get an HDTV first.
a new interface would have been nice, but i didnt expect it.
I have one question though, does tivo not support 1080p? From that "video mode options" video, he couldn't go higher than 1080i.

Lol, that THX video freaks me out! I've only got 2 speakers yet in the beginning all the sounds I swear is coming from behind me! Nice...
Still think the TiVo animation sucks...it's bowing, that's it?!

Not worth $799 specially when it won't even talk to Satellite sources. This should be in $300 ballpark.
Even at $300 one would still have to think about getting this for $12.95 a month when cable DVRs are $6 a month and no upfront cost!!

The fact that Tivo has ads makes it a non-starter for me.
It's amazing that even Windows Media Center has done a better job of an interface that feels more my own, mostly because it doesn't have any ads. Plus, it's easier to get to the recorded files using MPC.
To my mind Tivo jumped the shark when they stuck ads in their UI.
