iTunes 7 turning out to have major glitches
When we were deep inside Maestro Jobs' reality distortion field on Tuesday, all these new additions to iTunes 7 seemed like significant improvements over its previous version. But not quite 48 hours later, all is not quiet on the iTunes front. Specifically, users on Apple's web forums and our own tipsters are reporting that some new nanos aren't being recognized in Windows iTunes 7, music being played through iTunes 7 sounds "scratchy" at times, CoverFlow doesn't always entirely download properly, and there are allegations that iTunes 7 has become, slow, bloated, and a resource hog. Some of us here at Engadget who have installed iTunes 7 haven't noticed any bad playback or other slowdowns, but have been dissappointed that very few of the albums on our machines have successfully downloaded album art. Furthermore, The Sydney Morning Herald called iTunes 7 a "lemon" yesterday and went on to report that: "Both Mac and PC users appear to be affected by the glitches being reported, and numerous different threads on the Apple discussion forum have described a range of technical issues." Oh, and did we mention that many professionally produced podcasts -- including CNET's Buzz Oud Loud, Popular Mechanics, and our own -- are reportedly not working. If Apple doesn't do something about this pretty soon, people might start calling it iCan't -- as in: "I can't play my music anymore."[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

i have a much more serious problem. it seems every two or three launches itunes wipes out my whole library which means i have to load all my music up all over again. this is a 30-60 minute process which i dont enjoy doing. because there are too many comments to read i dont knw if anyone else has had this probelm but i knw i havent experienced the album art or 'scratchy' music issues. if anyone has experienced this or has some advice please reply. thanks
i have just downloaded the latest versions of itunes and quick time player. when i open itunes i can scroll up and down until a single "download" podcast attempts to appear to be downloaded. The programme freezes immediately. Nothing will shift it and the rest of my other programmes refuse to operate. As it stands i will never be able to load a new podcast on to my ipod and will be unable to watch any video on my computer which will not load on to my ipod. Is my situation unique and who can help me. I hear there are software problems but can the bugs be so fundamental?? i have thankfully not gone near the system with my ipod since the troubles but only have a partial download of my itunes library on it.
another problem i had recently was the gradual failure of the videos on my ipod to call up for viewing. i made a note of all the failed videos, deleted them off my ipod and reloaded in their entirety. It worked!! The vintage videos on my itunes will load up on my computer for viewing but are not compatable to be downloaded om my ipod. How can the software be so poor when the ipod is such a wonderful hardware device.
i downloaded 7, and now i really wish i hadn't.
i downloaded 7.2 which deleted my library.
then i updated to 7.3 which within 2 days corrupted and now wont open...i'm not sure if i want to update anymore :(
iTunes 7 was working fine for me - until 3 days later - I ran into so many problems; its been nearly a week and my iTunes still doesn't work.
I am so frustrated and tired, I've tried everything, including Apple Tech. and everything they did was ineffective. The problem is iTunes, not the computer or iPod - and yeah, the problem/glitch seems to affect 3rd generation iPod Nanos
I just hope that this problem will be successfully addressed because NOTHING seems to work for the some us who are still stuck
itunes will not setup. I had 6 that ran well then tried to update. It then screwed everything and tells me I have a H_key error. No one seems to know anything about it.
Any thoughts since I just got a new touch?
my issue with itunes 7 not working properly only applies to my recent purchase of microsoft vista. the two are not compatible. i know itunes fixed the glitch with a ipod corruption / ejection issue, but that is not a problem i faced. my issue is that all my downloaded itunes videos and video podcasts from when i had windows xp, will not play properly with vista. the audio works fine, but the video tracking stutters all the way through... not keeping up with audio. it is very irritating to say the least. unfortunately, i have not read of this issue happening on other blogs or articles, just the ipod issue. is anyone else experiencing this?
