Asustek R2H UMPC now available
We previously told you a couple weeks ago that Asustek had made its R2H UMPC official. Well now the R2H gets officially doubly real-deal official, given that DigiTimes reports that it's hit the streets for over $1,000. To recap, this little guy has a 7-inch screen, GPS, Bluetooth 2.0+ EDR, 802.11a/b/g, fingerprint reader, a 900MHz Celeron M ULV, and can store up to 60GB worth of whatever it is that you so badly need to carry around with you. We're not going to lie, we can definitely say that as usual, Asus delivered one of the single best designs in this form factor we've yet seen.

No keyboard?
Pass.
I am in the market for something small and portable that can surf the web, but it's entirely useless if I have to use an onscreen keyboard. Especially for >$1000.
Expensive? Maybe. Awesome? You bet!

Yippee. Anyone know when the Asus R1F Tablet is going to finally be released??
i think the only thing its missing is a good old usb port
Is reading the first three lines of the article that hard?
FTFA: Bluetooth® V2.0 + EDR, 3x USB, 1x SD Card-Reader, 1x GPS, 1x Finger Print Reader
Three USB ports
Just talked to Asus USA - they claim that neither the UMPC nor the tablet has actually been released yet. What's the real deal here? Is this only available in China?
"Is this only available in China?"
huh? I thought Asustek is a Taiwanese company...why would this only be available in China?
Anyways, how about a review of this thing???
These things need a core duo.. they are cheap enough, and XP needs the power. Othereise, I am mounting one of these things in my car!
gps... sounds like and looks like a badass gps map....
just get some interface with google earth stored on its hd...
Looks like the D-Pad and buttons would be great for emulators!
this is pretty nice, i'd definetely pick one up after starving for about 3 months!
and the comment about this having onscreen keyboard, buy a bluetooth keyboard u idiot.
wow. that is a nice form factor. and the features are kick ass. bigger drive though? wonder what size it uses.
Anyone else noticed the 1.3Megapixel inbuilt webcam? Now that is a nice feature :)
what's that little white thing on the top of it?
My guess would be GPS ant.
I agree that it is getting closer to the useful catergory isn't the price still well above the 'promised' price for these things when they were announced?
"what's that little white thing on the top of it?"
I think its actually black but reflecting a lot of light making it seem white and iirc its the GPS antenna.
I am not really sue why but, I think I need one of these... but, make it under $500 first... then I am in!
