Samsung launches GX-10 DSLR

Samsung's back at the DSLR game with their new GX-10, followup to the GX-1 (and GX-1L, and GX-1S) and GX-2, which brings home a 10.2 megapixel dust-resistant CCD, optical image stabilization, 2.5-inch display, RAW support, lens mount support for Pentax, KAF2, KAF and KA lenses, and an October release. Unfortunately we've no more details than those right now, so stay tuned as we wait to hear more about Korea's latest conquest on the primarily European, American, and Japanese-driven camera market.

Not bad. Still feels weird that companies like Samsung and Sony are now in the DSLR market. But yet Nikon isn't in the video camera market.

I'm allright with Nikon staying in the DSLR world, the only true great benefit of having them enter the Sony / Canon dominated video world would be having Nikkor glass, which would rock.

I've got to say that Engadget has NEVER looked better. These pics and some in previous posts look spectacular -- I've never seen any like it on a blog before, so high resolution and detailed.

actually i think those pictures were done poorly. On the main image the bottom of the lense is cut off a little bit >_> i'm not saying its not hard to take out the background and that i could do better, but i've seen better jobs!

It's almost entirely based on the Pentax K10D, given their relationship. And that's a good thing. As far as a camera goes, it appears to whoop the pants off the latest Canon in its class, though Canon has a better line-up of professional lenses.

pentax are supposed to announce new lenses (rumored) tomorrow, or at photokina. they're also supposed to be weather sealed AND use a new "supersonic" high speed moter. aside from some nice zooms, there are rumored to be some new telephoto lenses aimed squarely at sports shooters (again, highlighting fast AF). exiciting times when the underdog makes a good show. and, pentax has always had high quality glass, much of it comperable to l series lenses. they have a facinating set of prime lenses already available. they deserver a closer look from anyone.

oh give me a break, now everyone's making DSLR, are they really compatible to CANON & NIKON? a100 is awesome but since 400D coming out, sure it'll beat all those low end DSLR, also it's cheap, and it's CANON.

Hi lifesux,

I cancelled my order for Canon EOS 400D because I saw sample photos on several sites showing dust bunnies on a bright blue sky. I have my Olympus E-1 for more than a year now, and I take about 3000-4000 per month, changing lenses all the time, and haven�t got dust on my pics at all. Maybe Pentax K10D/Samsung GX-10 will do the "dust job", as I am shopping around for more pixels, and I had a film Pentax (and glass) before. So what if it's not a Canon / Nikon?? Pentax glass has always been top notch, Pentax users stay very loyal to the brand as the same lenses work on bodies from the old K1000 to the new DSLRs and also on the medium format cameras.

This camera is spec'ed far above the Canon and Nikon entry levels (of course it isn't an entry level camera really) -- in body image stabilisation, weather sealing, etc.

Just look at the dpreview.com preview of the Pentax K10d (identical to this in features it seems).

Wow, I know its a 10MP camera, but I could go with a 1MP image on engadget.
