Logitech's FreePulse Bluetooth headset leaked

The FCC's handed us yet another tasty morsel today: the new Logitech FreePulse Wireless headset, and what a headset she is. The minuscule looking device features Bluetooth 2.0+ EDR with A2DP (huzzah!) to control your iPod (via a dongle, of course) if that's how you want swing it, or other A2DP-compliant devices like that swanky LG Fusic that you've got your eye on. And according to the user's manual the FreePulse will also play nice with other MP3 players too, like that just-released Zune, for example. Unfortunately, the friendly Feds didn't tell us when these 'phones would be released, nor how much they would retail for. We do have to applaud Logitech for coming up with a name better than those other Bluetooth iPod packages that we've already seen, like the D.Muse iBlue and the horribly named iMuff.

It looks nice and sturdy, too.
It doesn't look like it has an obvious microphone, though. I wonder if it'll work as a headset?
Hey Engadget guys, is it so hard to resize your images?
this looks good... ive been lookin around the internet for some bluetooth headphones for my LG FUSIC. any date on when it might come out? or how much?
The name is also far better than their previous model, the "Wireless Headphone for MP3." That was a dumb name (though admittedly not as funny as iMuff).
It's a far better design, too. It looks like the headband will actually flex on this one. The last model was so tight that many people ended up with cracked headbands. It also made them horribly uncomfortable (I have a big head).
the one design flaw that I can see is that these aren't adjustable. I don't know how you'd get around that, considering the two phones have to be connected, but it becomes a problem if you have a head that's not average-sized.
Anyway, these look great. I wish more MP3 players had bluetooth. I know the sound quality isn't the same, but sometimes I just need the wireless.
Finally, some decent-looking and well sized headphones. Only problem - i bet they'll be incredibly expensive.
Probably at first, but have you seen how much the last model went for on Woot! after about 6 months on the market? I think it was about $15. Of course, that may have been Logitech dropping their stock of defective product in preperation for this...
Hopefully the neckband part of it won't be as prone to break as their previous wireless headset designs.
Tonicboy:
did you read the site redesign thread? they're scaling their images so that those of us with our giant Dell 30-inchers don't have to squint at the little pictures.
But I agree that these particular ones didn't survive the scaling very well...
I get the sense that calling these "miniscule" will, in a year or so, be like calling the original Walkman and cellphones miniscule. But, I agree, for now, they look better than the competition.
*sigh* i'm waiting for the wireless earbuds, that would be schweet.
Would these work with that Yepp YP-T9 player?
Looks good, I'll have to check these out when my headband cracks on my current Logitech headset. They have much better sound than I expected from a wireless device.
I agree the current Logitechs have a great sound for the price and design. Looking foward to these, hope they do not suffer any sound quality in the redesign.
bluetake does an awesome bit with their wireless headphones, but personally i liked the logitech ones, as long as they didn't break on me. can't wait to hook these up to my chocolate.
These open-ear designs must take more power to drive than an in-ear design, yet this is all I see coming out these days. A set of bluetooth headphones with long battery life could end up as a defacto communications piece of "jewelry" that folks end up wearing almost all day to either answer calls or listen to music, so it has to be a lot smaller to be comfortable and gain wider acceptance. Some kind of receiver/control dongle hanging off as a pendant might be the answer to keeping the head-piece small and svelt. But the big foam pads are just not doing it for me.
Check out the Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970's - they're A2DP earbuds with a controller/receiver hanging around your neck.
OK WAIT AMINUTE
I have been seeing specs for ZUNE but so far have not gotten an answer to my question...
DOES ZUNE HAVE A2DP OR NOT?
I NEVER saw anything saying ZUNE had BLUETOOTH.
I NEVER saw anything saying ZUNE had A2DP.
I won't be getting these. They look to have the same problem that the previous Bluetooth Headphones for Ipod did. The plastic headband has a tendency to develop cracks as you open them up a bit to fit them onto your head. Thes cracks start affecting the wiring. My previous set now won't charge up and stops playing.
We can't find Zune to has anything else for wireless connection other than wlan (wifi). So maybe there has to be done a minor correction here about the Zune compatibility.
Maybe this headset supports wifi except bluetooth ?

The details have been published on logitech's website. One question though: without the dongle transmitter, will it work with cellphoness with bluetooth like LG chocolate?
Most cell phones only support bluetooth 1.2 and this headset is using bluetooth 2.0.
I just hate to attach the dongle with my cell phone. Thanks.
does this work to my nokia 5300?? or what product should i buy??send me an email on rits.jansson@hotmail.com when you have an answer
I got the imuffs this past Christmas. What I don't like about them is the head piece is not adjustable so they don't have a nice fit on my head. What I do like is not having a wire getting in the way while on the treadmill. But because they don't fit well I accidentally dropped them once. One time and the volume button broke off. You would think that $190.00 would buy you a quality item. I have contacted their customer service. Apparently I am either the only person who has a pair or I am the only person who has ever dropped their product, because the customer service guy said no one has complained of a broken volume button. I'll be sending them in for repair soon, hopefully they will not try to wiggly out of the 1 yr. warranty. I will give an update on how satisfactory Wi-Gear customer service really is as soon as they get back with me.
