Nokia's N95 smartphone goes legit

We're still struggling with a spat of fainting fits across the Engadget HQ, but that Nokia N95 pre-release info leak last night wasn't no hearsay. Nokia just dropped their complete fanboy specsheet of a S60 phone in the Nokia N95 today, including a 5 megapixel camera, integrated GPS, 802.11g WiFi, HSDPA, microSD, 150MB of internal memory and pretty much any other spec you could ever care to have stuffed into your phone by a Finnish "multimedia computer" manufacturer. The 2.6-inch QVGA screen should provide plenty of room to partake in all this specification glory, and there's a full-on 3.5mm audio jack to enjoy your multimedia in a convenient manner. Of course, that 550 euro pricetag ($700 US) wasn't no joke neither, but luckily we have until Q1 '07 -- that's when they're busting this thing out in Europe -- to get all practiced up on our petty thievery. The Nokia N95 is coming out for Cingular Wirelss within the next 2 months, or at least after the Iphone comes out. I confirmed this with a sales person at a Phone Stroe that carried many Carriers. I was assured that the Nokia N95 was picked up by Cingular Wireless and is coming out within the next 2 months. He did not have any information on what the price of the phone would be if gotten with a Cingular Wireless Cortract.

this phone is the worst phone in the world i got mine 2 weeks ago and i have already had 2 replacements. it has a lot of faults like turning itself on and off, the mouth piece cuts off. this phone is a joke and the camera is sub standard. basically this phone promises a lot and delivers nothing but hassle

N95 has almost everything else you could think of including in a phone too: a music player with support for all common music formats, a stereo FM radio, integrated handsfree speaker, speaker independent voice dialling, talking ringtones, HSDPA (the fast data transfer technology dubbed "3.5G") and lots more! When it comes to connectivity, the N95 is the best-connected device in town, with support for Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0, Infrared, Wireless LAN, TV-Out and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Its memory is also more than adequate with up to 160 Mbytes of onboard memory and support for microSD memory cards (up to 8 Gbytes). Battery life is OK - when you consider how much work has to be done to power this beast, you can't really set your expectations too high.
