Boston: thanks for coming to the meetup!
Hey Boston,Thanks a ton for coming out last night -- we had a great time hanging with you Beantown style! And big thanks to Sonos, Sling Media, Slim Devices, and the rest of our sponsors for supporting the event. We'll save our full summary of the evening's festivities for our usual "aftermath" post (see: here, here, here, and here), but if you have pics from the event you'd like to see posted here on Engadget please send 'em in to us! (You can hit us up at engadget at gmail dawt com.) See you real soon!
Much love,
Engadget

Hmmmm... might want to rethink the title of this post. Or maybe I just need to grow up... :)

Too bad it was all the way in Boston :(

Looks like an awesome time.. What was the male to female ratio? 500 to 2?
jayarbee @ Sep 29th 2006 4:04AM
That might explain the nearly complete lack of smiling faces in the photos.

When is Engadget Meetup in Chattanooga, TN?

It was totally sweet! Even though I didn't win my Slingbox (grumble grumble) or anything else. Had a great time guys, though next time could the kids who don't drink get something to quench our thirsts for free too, like a soda or something?

My Over Lord has already given me permission to come to the next Meetup, no matter where I live, but the south is a great place to have a meetup (not really), its a little hot but hey so what.
furtim @ Sep 29th 2006 7:07AM
Oh, what the Hell? Why didn't I hear about this ahead of time?
Kenundrum @ Sep 29th 2006 7:55AM
Good time- met some really cool people. I tried to do a memory/rom dump of the Treo 750, but was thwarted by the lady doing the rundown of the features of the phones... shame...
Gr1zz @ Sep 29th 2006 8:13AM
Had a great time guys, thanks for the drink!
Sadly I dont work with any tech enthusiests, or "Extreme indoor enthusiast's"(me) for that mattor. It was fun to start up a conversation with peers who share the same tastes as myself and talk all night about our love for toys.
You guys rock!

Great event. Lots of cool stuff. And the Engadget commercials were great. Maybe you'll consider doing these 2x a year or so per some locations -- if you have the time and strength!:). Great community builder...Cheers.
apeguero @ Sep 29th 2006 9:10AM
Thanks Engadget. Had a really good time. The place was packed. Nice and friendly bartender girls too. That Treo 750 is the bomb though. Can't wait to get one.
Earnest @ Sep 29th 2006 9:47AM
I had a blast! I met some pretty cool people, I got some free drinks, and I got a t-shirt. Plus Massively multiplayer mariokart on the DS! What else do you want (besides the slingbox)?
Ming @ Sep 29th 2006 10:30AM
Great event, thanks for coming up the Boston. You guys are money. Keep the faith.
leftyfb @ Sep 29th 2006 10:56AM
My buddy and I had a great time last night along with the 4 girls we brought with us (2 of which had Firefox t-shirts on). I was the one wearing the "Diggnation" t-shirt. I had also donated the 1GB Flash drive preloaded with software from my website " http://NO-INSTALL.com ". Congrats to the winner of that and all the rest of the prizes. Great demo's on the Slingbox, squeezbox and Hava.
JohnMazz @ Sep 29th 2006 11:14AM
I was there with some friends. Alot of fun. Free tshirts, free nachos, free drink (singular, not plaural). there had to be 150-200 people there, I counted about 15-20 girls, there were probably a 1:10 ratio.
There was a raffel too (that I didnt hang around for) and alot of DS play (which I was dumb enough to forget my DS for)
I'd deffinatly go again.
HumanClone1stGen @ Sep 29th 2006 1:00PM
I can't wait when you guys come to NYC. If I didn't work fulltime I'd have swung by to meet you folks.
Murphy @ Sep 29th 2006 2:57PM
That's great.
When do we see the Commercial Contest results?
RogueAce @ Sep 29th 2006 6:32PM

I am so pumped, I was there and won a squeezebox!!! Thank you Engadget. I will read this site for years to come.
bao @ Sep 30th 2006 12:04AM
I went and it was great but I was disappointed in the lack of free non-alcoholic drinks. Here are some pictures I took that there, http://entertainment.webshots.com/album/554467804mnvHtG
Matt @ Oct 2nd 2006 9:45AM
Come to Philly!!!!!
Kevin Kosh @ Oct 2nd 2006 9:46AM
Hey guys, just wanted to throw in our thanks for a great time. Fun and informative. Didn't have a digital camera on hand (an engadget faux pas to be sure) but blogged on our site about the evening. Looking forward to the next one.

For a second I thought the post was talking about a gay party. I was thinking, "this is random".
