Panasonic's 10,000 lumen TH-DW10000 projector
Panasonic's dropped more than just camcorders at the big CEATEC show in Japan this week, also announcing this fairly beefy projector (and no, Akihabara News isn't getting into the projector biz -- just a bit more creative with its watermarks). Details on specs are still a little thin, but we've got the big numbers, with the DLP projector promising full HD resolution (which we assume is 1080p, though you can never really be sure these days), 4,000:1 contrast ratio, and a mighty 10,000 lumens. No word on the port situation, or a price or release date for that matter, though you can safely bet on throwing down at least a couple of grand for this one.

10,0000 = It goes to eleven.

I think "a couple grand" should read "a few dozen grands."

I'm not too sure about the Akihabara News logo on the face of the projector ... I think I'd rather have the branding be a little more subtle on my several-grand-costing projector.
:P

Don't think I've seen one with 10,000 lumens before. That is extremely bright. My guess is $5000 to $7000, possibly more.

More like $15,000-$25,000 minimum, its obviously a commercial projector for actual cinema use.

I'm going to say at least $75,000.
Some new information has surfaced about this and its sister projector, the TH-D10000.
They're going to use three 0.95" DLP chips instead of one, the resolution is in fact (1920 x 1080) and it will be able to project a 600" diagonal image. The TH-D10000 will have all the same specifications, but will be SXGA+ (1400 x 1050).

Oh, and the whole system is liquid cooled. So it's dead silent.

Just saw a demo at my work. It really is 10,000 Lumens, looks incredible. They quoted $75,000 CAD for it.
