No word on that 19-incher we
were just hearing about, but Dell just announced a new 20-inch LCD to pad out their lineup, and this one's priced to move. The new E207WFP eschews big brother
2007WFP's bells and whistles like a USB hub -- along with the composite and S-Video ports, as far as we can tell -- but still sports that 1,680 x 1,050 widescreen resolution, 20.1-inch viewing area and a DVI port with HDCP. The monitor even bests the 2007WFP with a 5ms response time, compared to the latter's 16ms, but the best news comes in the form of the spankin' $289 pricetag, which compares quite favorably to the 2007WFP's $529 MSRP, or even its $400-ish Froogle price. The E207WFP should be available "immediately" worldwide, and if you can do without the high-end frills, or one of those schmancy jumbo-sized
24 or
30-inchers, it doesn't seem you could go far wrong with this unit.
No sign of that model number on the UK or US sites for Dell, just on that FTP server that someone linked earlier. Knowing how Dell UK works though, it'll be priced in the £300 range, making it 50% more expensive than the US 'version'.
This is probably Dell's response to this Samsung:

Myself and several of my friends have this Samsung, and it's a great monitor.
I just called Dell today. They said the release has been pushed back a month. This makes me sad.
they lied, nathaniel givens. It's on Dell's website today with an approx ship date of 1-2 weeks.
I ordered mine yesterday, and it is being shipped as we speak.
Yeah, I saw the monitor a couple days later, but I'd already ordered a BenQ instead. That really annoys me, because I would have preferred a Dell. Remind me not to trust what customer reps at Dell say next time.
is the new dell monitor going to be "ultrasharp"?
We got 3 in at work today. Set mine up the minute it got in the building. It is one fine monitor, especially because of the price! No banding problems. Very slick.
Dell just lower the price to $260.
Right now you can get this monitor from dell home for $260 (10% discount) and spend $400 or more and get 15% discount. I just bought 2 of them (one for me, one for my father) for $246 per ($491 for 2)
I have a Dell 3007WFP, a Dell 2405FPW and a Dell 2005FPW. Games on the 30 inch are just excellent. I am running at 2560 x 1600 with 2 BFG 7900GTX OC Boards. Time to replace them with 8800GTX boards...
I just received a brand new E207WFP.. and the DVI ports not working right. I get horrible red speckling on the ATI Radeon 9800, and the display 'blanks out' periodically.. like twice a minute, or so randomly... And on my NVidia GeForce 4Ti 4200, it just constantly blinks.. ON, Off..... ON.. off.. you see the image for 1 second and its off for 3 seconds. Unusable. Otherwise the colour/sharpness/etc is fine, and it works fine on the analog port.. Mine going back.. I'm not keeping it... or getting another dell panel. I have several 2007FP's and they're great... I knew I shouldn't have bought something with the letter E infront of it ;)
