Sony goes ape with A2DP stereo Bluetooth accessories
In addition to their new S-series Walkmans announced earlier, Sony also unleashed a whole suite of Bluetooth 2.0 accessories all supporting the A2DP profile for untethered stereo audio. Starting top-left and moving clockwise, we find the WLA-NWB1 Bluetooth adapter exclusively for the new NW-S700/S600 series players and on sale in Japan November 18th for ¥7,000/$59. With that installed, you can listen in from either the DR-BT20NX (¥20,000/$167) neck strap system or DR-NT30Q (¥13,000/$109) mini-cans each with microphone and support for a wide range of profiles for use with cellphones, handsfree kit, or any portable audio player. What's more, you can control any of those devices supporting Bluetooth's AVRCP profile. Also announced are the HWS-BTA2W (¥8,000/$67) transmitter/receiver and TMR-BT10 (¥8,000/$67) transmitter for enabling just about any device with Bluetooth stereo audio. Rounding things out is the big ol' 6-watt, SRS-BTM30 Bluetooth speaker (¥14,000/$117) which includes a stereo mini-jack with up to 15 hours of continuous playback off battery. These will all hit Japan October 21st. And when they land in the US, we might even proclaim that A2DP has indeed, arrived. See all the accessories in their biggie pic glory after the break.

Too bad Sony's Playstation 3 doesn't even support A2DP!!!! Come on Sony!
Finally some Sony A2DP love... now if they would just update the firmware on my W800i so I can use this, I may find a need for some of this stuff.
Now, if only a reputable company would make some.
Err..Plantronics makes a great headset for A2DP. I bought it for my Nokia 8801 last year!
Tommy, i don't think that our phones can be updated to a2dp via a firmware upgrade :(
Is it compatable with the logitec sterio BT headset?
It's from Sony so something is likely very wrong with it either quality wise or the specs are a lie or something dangerous like it will start fires...
The middle one is a compact personal fire extinguisher, although there were some minors burns in testing...
It is unfortunate that other companys are so slow to adopt what is a quantum leap in function.
Any word on what these will do to the battery life? I love all these bluetooth accessories, DAP, and cell phone apps, but recharging every 2 hrs is getting old.
Is there a good list somewhere of which phones support A2DP?
You've got to have little else going on in your life if all you can think of doing is writing a couple of lines in a blog slagging off Sony.
If everyone stuck a negative stigma on every brand, and never waivered from them, nobody would buy anything.
Is society so off the rails that people hate before they love?
bluetooth headphones with mic... any chance this will work with the ps3? they have not shown any headsets yet... so if their remote-controll is allready working over bluetooth...
Do you now "Anycom" ???
ANYCOM is the best firm with the greatest portfolilio of Bluetooth-Products. Best quality
and and all products have A2DP Files. !!!

Awesome stuff, really goes against all the recent sony bashing, nice features and excelent design, not too futuristic and quite discrete, imo Sony still has the best industrial designers and uses high quality materials on the outside(and inside, electronics).
Yet, I'd never (again) buy headphones that use those foam covers, they eventually rot and tear apart, they should bundle a couple of them on the package.
funny how when you buy electronics the salesman will tell you what you want to hear i bought a toshiba lap-top for $1100.00 and asked if it was bluetooth capable the answer was oh ya see it is right here you just have to set it up wrong so i purchased a sony stereo which is supposed to be bluetooth capable and it is if you can find the drivers so i went to staples to find a driver and was told ya this $200.00 dollar logitec wireless mouse and keyboard will give you the bluetooth hub you need its so i purchased it as well and now i have three items that will not work together does anyone have any advise that may let me know where i might find a download that will make my sony a2dp bluetooth stereo work with the logitec usb hub
please help
