XM's new "X2G-100" XM2go player found in FCC
Details are still mondo sketchy at this point, but the FCC just delivered satellite radio fans a new present today: XM's "X2G-100" XM2go portable. Looks vaguely like a Pioneer Inno from the rear and we're hoping it's not some upgrade we're getting ourselves all worked up over, but if it was it'd likely not be filed by XM. Now watch as XM goes about its own business until one day it "suddenly" announces this mysterious device.
Update: Steve T writes to let us know it might just be Audiovox's XM2go device. Could be, but we still don't know for sure if this is going to be that same device which will provide "the ultimate music experience."

Actually I don't think this is any break through. This looks like the data sheet I have on my desk right now for the XM2go that will be shipping really really soon.
It's pretty much JUST like the Pioneer inno, shape, screen, controls, etc. Specs/capabilities are all the same as the inno as well. Even the accessories (holster, jogging arm band, etc) look just like the inno (probably are).
The main difference between this and the inno, is the inno inlcudes a home/office dock, but the XM2go will be marketed as an on-the-go unit (hence the name). It will include LIVE antenna headphones (built into the top of the arch), earbuds (VERY nice), ac power adapter, travel power cable, battery, USB cable, software/manual.

XM should lease Howard 101 so they can make their players useful for something other than losing.

Sweet, I hope this comes out soon. And No one is listening to Howard anything. The guy is an aged hack Shock Jock. Howard Who?

I'd like to know from rural user if these newer generation players require external antennas. I have a MyFi, and the internal antenna only works in areas with repeaters. Until I ordered a ClipXT (the clip-on antenna that comes with the MyFi is useless), I couldn't use it as a portable. I'd like to ditch the external antenna all together though one day.

The Inno has much better native reception than the MyFi and you don't need an external antenna when outside. Of course, here in Florida interior reception requires an antenna plugged into a home dock. The only other downside to the Inno is you miss the pre-set buttons as all favorites are accessed via menu navigation.

This thing looks exactly like my INNO from the back. I love my INNO, just wondering why XM offers 3 of the same unit from different brands, INNO, HELIX and this thing....still an awsome unit either way, just hope it does somthing different. Oh and where the hell is my INNO boombox, I cant belive XM still hasnt released one.

Sean C(#1) so your saying the specs are the same for the Inno as it is to this as far as size? To me it just looks wider then the inno giving me the thought of it having video.......
The 100 in the model name makes me think its a 2GB device with 100 hours of recording vs. 50 of the inno(though the inno did not have a 50 in the model #).
#2.....Losing? XM has more subs!
Scott @ Oct 17th 2006 3:14AM
Not only does XM have more subs but since Mr. 500 million dollar contract signed the doggy co. has only cut XM's lead by 1 million subscribers. And 8-10% of Sirius total subs are unsold cars on lots (500k)
Do that math.
I loved my Inno. Like my Nexus more. Passport (mini-tuner) is the future?
