LG has announced a 55-inch plasma at KES, but not many details are available about the 55PB2DR model; the one feature that does stand out, however, is the inclusion of a
time machine. Well, actually that's just a poorly-translated description of PVR functionality that will "pause, record and reply [sic] TV programs for two hours after the original broadcast." LG had previously announced a
product line with PVR built in, but that series will include 1,080p capability. This display sports 768 lines of resolution, 2000:1 contrast, a 9-in-2 card reader, the usual range of connections including component and HDMI, and LG's XCanvas display control technology. No word on what happens when you
hit 88 mph.

I could not stop laughing after reading that.

LoL... Time Machine.
I don't know whats worst, the fact that they actually used such a phrase or that its so blatantly plagarised from apples recovery feature

"its so blatantly plagarised from apples recovery feature"
LG started to use the term "time machine" eariler than Apple. I think it's cheesy name (for both PVR and File versioning sw), though.

Maybe in the future they will release one that is fueled by garbage.

So... where does the flux capacitor go?

Was that reply or replay?

It shouldn't be called a "Time Machine" unless it can record the future. Which would be pretty awesome... yet very dangerous. The last thing we need is the universe imploding because of a paradox created by a "Time Machine" feature on an LCD TV.

Uhm... the words "time machine" don't just have to do with Apple, you know. The concept has been around for a while. :P
Sounds like an Engrish moment to me :)

Why wont these guys make a deal with the gaming console manufacturers and include a gaming console/online media download/purchase capability built into it? The added $250 (plus $50 per unit integration costs) to have an integrated Nintendo Wii + HDTV combo will only be a 10% increase.

Time Machine? I haven't invented any time machine.
