Edifier M0 iPod alarm clock comes with cartoon faces?
We're not exactly sure what to make of the new Edifier M0 iPod alarm clock speaker. All we know via AVING and a Google-translated PCHome article is that this iPod alarm clock apparently has a nine minute snooze button. (Don't you just hate those? Why not 10?) Further, while we're not entirely sure on this, M0 appears to come with optional faces for one side (see next page for examples), and PCHome claims that the Edifier M0 has "authorization from Apple, designed specifically for iPod." Yeah, we're a bit skeptical on that front too unless they're talkin' Made For iPod, in which case they paid Apple for that "authorization." What about pricing and availability? Ha, good luck.

Since it has a 4th gen iPod in it, will it only work with the thin full sized iPods?
Not that it is important; it is never going to see the light of day.

I'm a Chinese. I can read the original page of PCHome. Edifier is the largest PC Speaker Manufacturer in China. This "M0" is "Made for iPod". But I'm afaid to say from this article, the optional faces maybe just animation. The back of M0 thay said has a volume monitor,no faces. If you want more detail, you can contact me.

9 min snooze because the alarm takes 1 min = goes up in 10s

I work at Radioshack and we just got a black and a white one that look exactly like this. It only has a single volume knob on back. It also has a pretty neat way of adjusting to all of the different iPods without the use of adapters. Sounds pretty good for the price. It's 49.99 and only works for the iPod, it has no line input. Heres a link to it on the Radioshack website. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2405820&cp=&origkw=ipod+alarm+clock&kw=ipod+alarm+clock&parentPage=search
It doesn't have a picture up yet because it is brand new, but it should be up soon i guess.

Here's why it's 9 minutes and not 10:

Damn another RS employee beat me to the punch. Only ours is made by a company called Accurian, who ever that is. Its pretty cool concept since you can play your music through it but the only thing I don't like is how the ipod in not very securely in, it wobbles a bit.
geoff Puryear @ Oct 25th 2006 1:44PM
Too many RS employees here, I might be another one. It's branded Accurian, the one that we sell at RadioShack is made by Edifier but we brand it with our own name "Accurian" same goes for "Presidian" "Optimus" and a few others.

I dont see why it need a face on the back it already looks like mikey from monsters inc. with a red eye when the ipods docked.

I picked up an RCA dual-alarm clock a few months ago... the thing comes with an adjustable snooze, anywhere from 1 minute to 20 minutes. It makes me so happy. I love snooze.
funkify @ Oct 25th 2006 10:38AM
Accurian is RadioShack. So it is either sourced and rebadged or it has been developed by the RizzleShizzle. I saw it in the Shack at the weekend and it does have a way to adjust it for the later generations of iPod.

Looks like the character from the VW Fast commercials.

I just found the post on this product and I can probably shed some light on this. I work for a product design firm in Plano TX called Ignition. We designed this product last year for RadioShack where it is currently available in classic white or the new black under the Accurian brand for 49.99 USD. Edifier was our manufacturer on this program and they are probably releasing it under their own brand outside North America. As far as those faces go....that was not part of the original product specifications.
Greg @ Oct 25th 2006 4:35PM
You got to love RS though, we chage it to our name even though its the same product! We're just so original. I don't know if anyone mentioned this but the snooze button requires a hammer to set it to snooze. The speakers on it are nice though.
