The price is HUGE, its crazy. Who would actally buy one? The soft case looks nice though.
who they should have colaborated with in the first place (not a no talent music 'artist').

The Japanese have been making expensive themed versions of consoles for a long while. Look at the number of different Dreamcasts.
Isn't this a little too late?
PSP is headed straight to the bargain bin. Sony really blew this opportunity. They should have never gotten into the portable market. Their strength was in the home console market. They should have concentrated all their resources on the PS3.
I was an early adopter, but after owning 4 games, then having absolutely nothing else to play for the following year, I decided to sell it, because there were no more good games to play. Sony was too interested in selling movies on the UMD format.
I later found this little nugget of gaming goodness call the DS, specifically the DS Lite. All I can say is WOW, never doubt Nintendo.
well it is sony's first time on portable. Maybe 2nd gen will blow your mind, just like xbox was shit then 360 doing well at the moment.
I was the complete opposite of you. I brought a DS lite and sold it because i found the games to be incredibly short and having little replay value. If you get bored of the genre of games on the DS, theres not a lot more the console has to offer.
At least with the PSP, which Sony has touted as a multimedia device, There's always something else i can do as it offers a lot more and through firmware upgrades can continue to as well. In effect they have a myriad of options to choose from as to what to do with the PSP.
Stop the hating already.
Nintendo is good at the handheld market, and the PSP is the first viable competitor in a very long time. Its hardly going anywhere, its all relative, DS is selling well, so it make everything look bad.
Would you rather have a Nintendo monopoly over the handheld market?

It's about the games.
I got a PSP the day it came out. Then got tired of it and traded it in on a DS lite the day it came out. Now, my DS is currently on ebay cause I don't play it near as much as I did the PSP. I think I'm going to buy another PSP.
There's a cheaper version of this that I'll probably be ordering for $349, it doesn't come with the certificate and the case isn't snakeskin, but it still has that nice camouflage PSP.

Meanwhile I couldn't give less of a shit about the color of my DS lite. Admittedly I did hold off purchasing one until the black came out because I'm sick of all the white ipod-isk products, but "special editions". Gah.
when will we see a friggin HDD instead of stupid colors? what lame gimmick.
and for the record, I sold my original PSP for a DS lite. then sold the DS lite because of all the kiddy games and crappy graphics. Sure the system looks slick, but its deffinitely a kid's system.
Will we get a 2-hour cutscene, before we can retrieve the PSP, when we open the box?
I'm really getting sick of hearing about the DS in these threads about psp stuff. If the origional topic had nothing to do with the DS, then DON'T talk about it. You had your chance about 2 years ago.
I own a DS, but I find it very boring to play, the games aren't very fun. On the PSP though, I can do more than just play games. When I'm on the go, it's great to have the psp with me, and the standby mode is something that I think EVERY portable system should have, It's extremely useful.
More on topic. I love the snakeskin soft case, but I think the actual PSP is too bright, camo should be darker.
This is a lot better than that P!nk crap they've been peddling.
The game actually sounds like it will be pretty good, but there's no way I'd spend that much on a bundle for a butt-ugly PSP to go with it.
