Last time we spotted
Interlink, it was busy shoving a
Bluetooth Media Remote into our ExpressCard slot, and while its new ONYX remote doesn't quite have the stashability of its sibling, there's plenty to love here for the Stevenote-wannabe PowerPoint junkies out there. The RemotePoint ONYX
presentation remote carries its own USB Auto RF receiver, which operates at up to 100-feet, and automatically switches between 64k unique addresses to keep make sure nobody else starts running your presentation. The unit also has a built-in laser pointer, the requisite buttons, and a nifty clock to keep you on schedule. No word on price of availability, but a
CES 2007 launch would be a good guess. Keep reading for a couple live shots.

Stevenote and PowerPoint in the same sentence? Blasphemy.

If you are using PowerPoint, you're are pretty poor Stevenote-wannabe. A real Stevenote-wannabe would only use Keynote.
Gil @ Nov 9th 2006 6:03PM
While keynote has more shiny things it's much less powerful than the latest powerpoint.
In any case I think this remote can be used with any presentation software

This clicker looks like it'd be pretty awkward to use.

yeah, odd design, but i suppose you could hide it better then one of those clunky tv-style presentation remotes. I expect this to be expensive seeing the fake leather use and chrome-ish buttons.

Lester, Nevin,
Actually, this design fits fairly comfortably in the hand, and perhaps just as important, doesn't look goofy when you're holding it - your hand naturally folds around it.

well, at least you got the end of my name right....anyways, yeah it DOES look like it would fit comfortably in your hand, but you have to admit it is somewhat unconventional. I would rather have something like a pen, holding that thing you would have you hand closed throughout the presentation, id like something that looks a bit more inconspicuous.

odd shape.

I've tried holding this remote and it is suprisingly very comfortable in your hand. Your thumb lands right on the main two buttons. You can cradle it, pocket it, and hide it in ways that hasn't been possible with 'tv style' remotes that are out there. The leather was pretty nice and added a sense of authenticity and professionalism to the device... I wouldn't mind at all leaving it out on the table after a presentation.
