If you just so happen to be in the market for a new mouse or off-the-wall
hand-warming device, Japan's own
Thanko has just the things. If you're down with a bit of
holiday cheer, the admittedly unsightly snow globe mouse sports a bright, smiling face across the buttons, actual snow globe in the casing, and USB connectivity; additionally, Frosty can get his party on with the seven color-changing LEDs that light up the dome. If all that glitz just screams overkill, the hand-warmer mouse can keep your palm toasty as the snow trickles down outside your window, and the adjustable temperature knob can prevent unnecessary perspiration from accruing. Both mice sport 800dpi optical sensors and light-up when connected to a powered USB port, and the heater-equipped version can be had for ¥2,980 ($25), while the
Santa-approved variety demands just ¥980 ($8.32).

The Mouse Hand Warmer is new, and there's nothing like it on the market. It's $19.95 price includes Free USA Domestic Ground Shipping & Sales Tax! It's the perfect gift idea for computer users. A new Geek Gadget just in time for the holidays!
Keeps your mouse hand covered by a warm blanket. Constructed of a warm polyester fleece blanket material with a non-slip surface. Fits standard mouse pads. Hand wash and air dry.
Instructions: Slip a standard sized mouse pad inside the Mouse Hand Warmer. If using a wireless mouse, the net front provides a clear optical connection. When using an USB connected mouse, slip the cord through a small slit opening made in the center front net. Easy to keep clean by hand washing with a mild detergent and air drying.
The Mouse Hand Warmer is hand made in the USA. It's energy-effecient and uses NO electricity. Heat is generated from your body and insulated inside a warm, cozy fleece blanket pouch.
The Mouse Hand Warmer is an inexpensive way to keep your mouse hand warm during chilly weather or whenever you feel your mouse hand getting cold. A drafty air-conditioned office makes for an uncomfortable exposed hand if you sit and work all day at the computer. During the winter, a draft or drop in temperature makes your mouse hand cold, too. Sometimes fingers get numb due to the cold air. Keep your mouse hand warm inside a cozy blanket.
The idea for a Mouse Hand Warmer came about after spending many years working long, late hours sitting at a computer. When your mouse hand gets cold there's really nothing you can do to warm it except stop working or cover it with a warm blanket. That's why the Mouse Hand Warmer was created.
No wires or cords to get tangled on your desk top. The Mouse Hand Warmer is a contemporary, modern, techie-looking desk accessory in neutral colors of gray fleece with black and white trim. The pouch measures about 12" x 12" with a wide front opening to get your hand into and out of the Mouse Hand Warmer with ease. Fits most mouse sizes, from a standard small mouse to a large ergonomically shaped mouse.
Mouse Hand Warmer is a registered trademark and patented product made in the USA by i-GlobalMall.com, Inc. http://www.IGMproducts.com
THE WARMING MOUSE IS NOT A GOOD INVESTMENT. HERE'S WHY:
1. IT'S NOT ERGONOMIC -- YOUR HAND IS NOW COLD AND SORE
2. IT HEATS UP WITHOUT CONTROLS -- NOW YOUR HAND IS SORE, COLD AND SWEATY.
3. IT USES A CORD AND GETS TANGLED ON MY DESK.
I AGREE WITH ANNA ABOVE. USE SOMETHING THAT DOES NOT REQUIRE ELECTRICITY IN THIS TIME OF OUR ENERGY CRISIS.
I USE THE MOUSE HAND WARMER FROM HTTP://WWW.IGMPRODUCTS.COM. IT IS WASHABLE, TOO. ANY SIZE MOUSE AND MOUSE PAD FITS INSIDE. I LOVE IT AND IT WORKS. IT'S ALSO AVAILABLE AT AMAZON, ETSY AND EBAY.
HOPE THIS REVIEW IS HELPFUL!
COLD MOUSING HAND IS A HORRIBLE THING. REGULAR PEOPLE JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND. US GEEKS HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT.
KEEP WARM,
MONICA
I was actually just looking for a heated mouse the other day because my wife's office is in the basement and her mousing hand always gets really cold.
Now just need to see some reviews on if it really works well and how much it'd cost to get it here.
thats funny. when using my mouse i hardy touch it. my hands kinda hover over the mouse and i guide it with my finger tips while my wrist is relaxing on the table. i think that makes sense.
Jeez, I'll stick with my MX518, but I'd LOVE this. http://world.altavista.com/babelfish/trurl_pagecontent?lp=ja_en&trurl=http%3a%2f%2fwww.thanko.jp%2fudearm%2f
what?!?!?!? No hilarious/snide remark regarding overheating/exploding sony/dell/mac?!?!?!? Is this engadget?
I wonder if they just molded a razer copperhead for that heated mouse or they got the rights to ir from them or they just buy from the same supplier.
I was thinking the same thing pyro. Looks exactly like my Razer Diamondback from http://www.razerzone.com. But the razer is 1600dpi not 800.
"thats funny. when using my mouse i hardy touch it. my hands kinda hover over the mouse and i guide it with my finger tips while my wrist is relaxing on the table. i think that makes sense."
Come back and tell us how much sense it makes after you develop carpal tunnel syndrome.
My friend got this like 3 weeks ago. I think it looks adorable. She thinks it's cute. When asked for her thoughts on the mouse, she said "It's cool." When asked for more she said "it plays music and can do a jig".
Don't believe her.
Oh and she did mention that the "snow" is heavy and that it falls to the ground to quickly. That you can believe.
MY REVIEW RULES!

Pulling power out of USB ports for heating? Unless this mouse is the only thing you plan to connect to your USB ports. I had a camera and a MP3 player powered through USB, and then when I put connected a USB mouse, that thing was auto-dismounted because of overload. So unless this thing happens to have a built-in furnace where you put burn your firewood, or you have no other USB devices - don't fall for this hand warmer.
