Ever hear of decaffienated coffee? How about the simple netiquette of not typing in all caps unless you're screaming at the top of your lungs, er fingers...whatever...
I stumbled across this board whilst researching the HR20 - I have not yet ordered one - and I must say the single best argument I've seen here for getting one is Shill's invariably shrill diatribe.
Anything that can get a guy/girl/whatever of his/her/its ilk that off balance has to be a lot of fun.
On to more germaine thoughts; I've been using a combination of TiVo standalones, DirecTivos and PC Linux and XP based DVR/PVRs for a number of years and my only serious complaint about DTV's implementationof the various standards has been the inability to network them and share recorded data between units or simply view them across the LAN. That particular limitation looks to still be firmly in place with no good reason given by the never so helpful CSRs at DTV. Pretty big bummer, that.
I'm certain that eventually I'll have to upgrade some of my gear because DTV will stop, dare I say it, "supporting" it at all. In the meantime, I'll continue to experiment with my terabyte SATA RAID and the insane machine to which it's attached, including all of the PC based PVR gear I've been futzing around with and perhaps I'll discover a solution that puts DirecTV's version of this fun behind me for good.
Who knows? I certainly don't, but at least I can face it all with a sense of humor and decorum that apparently Shill's folks didn't instill at an early enough age.
Following the commercial success (and technical disappointment) of the original Wildfire -- which featured a miserly 528MHz CPU and QVGA display -- HTC has returned with the Wildfire S.
