Brando's WorkShop 55-in-1 reader, now with SDHC
If you want to be safe, and we mean really safe from the onslaught of memory card formats then look no further than the WorkShop 55-in-1 reader from Brando. We're not going to run down the whole list for you, but you should know that the reader supports not only the new SDHC (SD 2.0) card format, but also the unannounced and likely fictitious (for now anyway) "SDHC 2.0" format. Looks like they're taking their product cues from AData who have been mislabeling their SDHC cards since day 1. It's products like this which remind us just how fractured the consumer electronics business can be. Yours at the end of November for $28.

Geez...just go all out and consider each manufacturer and capacity a different card. ~1037-in-1 is way more impresive than 55-in-1 don'tcha know...
But as far as flash memory goes I still don't see why we need more than miniSD, SD, CF. Pretty much any size, speed, capacity combination you could want or need can be found in those three forms. MiniSD can be adapted to SD, and SD in turn can be adapted to CF. And for that matter CF can be adapted to PCCARD or Expresscard, and SD can go direct to USB w/out a reader (depending on brand and design of course). Do any of the other formats REALLY bring anything else of significant value to the table ?
I mean I know greed is the ultimate motivation, but does greed have to be so messy and confusing for the consummer ?
I like how 17 of those formats belong to Sony.
I wonder if anyone in the industry thinks something is wrong with that picture or even the statement of "55-in-1". Everyone is so greedy to make their own format in hopes of having the industry on lock. Namely Sony. See all the good that's done for them. The day they admit defeat and dissolve that company will be the day the industry leaps forward.
so does this mean i get 55 drive letters? what's after Z? AA? numbers? numbers and letters? There really should be a reader that reads every type of card out there, and lists them by manufacturer, and by size / model number.
so how can we pick it up.... getting this product from HK is not as easy as that post made it sound
