Wii setup and interface walkthrough video

We're sorry to have to put you through this, but we've got nearly twenty full minutes of footage of the Wii in the can. Hit it for initial setup, configuration, and a complete interface and menu walkthrough, including the creation of a Mii. (Sorry, online stuff is disabled for the time being, we'll hit you back on that asap.) We know it's a tad excessive, but we're hoping to keep the Nintendo fanboys in the house pleased while we silently and lovingly admire our congregation of consoles.

Why did you choose a FON access point? You won't be able to connect to the net with FON unless you go into a browser and put in your username and password for FON. I've seen others talk about the networking and it worked for them out of the box. I think your choosing the FON point was why networking didn't take off.

Was all the wireless disabled, or just the online content? The reason I ask is I'm wanting to know if the wireless supports WPA or not. One of my peeves about the DS.

Can you plug a normal broadband ISDN cable from the phone line to the Wii to gain access to the Wii's internet functions? I don't have Wi-Fi.
1. The Wii doesn't take ISDN phone connections as far as I know.
2. There is a USB->Ethernet adapter available if you don't have wireless in your house.
3. I agree with the stretching comment, some TV's require you to manually click "16:9" or "Widescreen" to make them co-operate.
4. To the build quality. Just because a console is small doesn't it's automatically flimsy. Nintendo has been known for good build quality a more then Sony or Microsoft has. I love my 360, but I've already replaced it's controller because of a squeaking.
5. Nintendo is not targetting the Wii at kids, they're targetting it at everyone. The soft, gentle, interface works will with a lot more people then the "hardcore sci-fi tech looking interface" that hardcore fanboys like. I like the interface myself. It's smooth.
6. I'm guessing the purple came from the highlight on the Photo Channel buttons. I can't confirm this since I've yet to touch a Wii console.
7. The Wii Channels intrigue me, I want to play with them.
8. I can't believe it's saturday tomorrow @_@.

A PS3? do i spy? is it wank? and loving the Wii vid's, cant wait till the 8th of Dec when i get mine here in the UK.
Ive had Nes,Snes, N64 and Gamecube. There all still work to this day and the orginal controllers work. Like Sean said build quality for nintendo is usually second to none.
I have a 360 also and ive had to replace a controller already aswell!
Do you cover problems with nintendo wii consoles...if so any idea why the controlers i have got,have stopped working tried re-syncing but no good ....thanks DEANO
