We'd be willing to be more than one of you know the likeness of Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington, but how many among us would go so far as to try to break into his phone? Apparently a 27 year old woman by the name of Devon Townsend used a machine at a Sandia National Lab in New Mexico to gain access to Bennington's Verizon account, and obtained call records and cameraphone shots; apparently she also got access to his wife's email and went so far as to verbally threaten the poor Mrs. Bennington. Like Chappelle before him, we can understand Bennington not wanting someone playing on his phone, but think he should be glad he made it out of this one relatively scot free.
Celebs before have faced the wrath and aftermath of
leaked sex tapes to leaked A-list phonebooks, so be glad, Chester, that you still have your dignity.
How unfortunate that she didn't 'go the extra mile'. It'd certainly do the world some good if there were 1 or 100 fewer celebrities in the world.
...... what? lol :p
For a second, I read the fan's name as Devin Townsend (from the band Strapping Young Lad) and got really confused.
I read that too! Except I didn't think the Strapping Young Lad part, I like his prog metal solo albums..
wow what a nut case but maybe Chester should re-think this one
crazy in the head=crazy in the bed.
wow :-D this this jus tells me to be more secure.
"We'd be willing to be more than"
Spelling Correction: willing to bet
"Fan hacks Linkin Park singer's phone, caught in the end"
I'm guessing you said that cos they have a song called in the end...
If she was a fan, why would she threaten his wife? Not a good way to make a good impression on someone you are obsessed with.
Cause his wife stole her man, the bitch.
Love the Chappelle's Show reference.
What?
The biggest set of musical Posers created by corporations lead singer, who does nothing but whine about girlfriends he's never had and imagined parental situations has a squeaky clean cell phone?
Shocking, just shocking, better call Limbaugh, this might just be that heart attack in the making.
Linkin Park wasn't created by a corporation Revrant2394.
what kind of "device" at Sandia is this?
The Linkin Park we all know and loathe today? Yeah it was, the original band from LA? No, no it wasn't.
No, no it wasn't. Check them out on Wikipedia.
No, Whoosh, Sheesh, failing to grasp my meaning? The band wasn't what they are today when they started out, they were molded into the whining-band-with-issues, if you'd of heard their original stuff before they got "picked up" you'd know what I'm talking about.
I bet Chester was numb with fear we he saw what was happening. Yeah was did she threaten his wife, if that would do anything it would be pushing him away from here. I'm glad she's in jail where she can start breaking the habit of hacking into his phone and I think jail is somewhere she belongs. Oh yeah sorry for the references of Linkin Park's songs Numb, Pushing Me Away, Breaking the Habit, and Somewhere I Belong. I could not resist.
Ahaha! What a nutjob!
here's her myspace account.
http://www.myspace.com/oshuwa
Maybe someone should try to break into her myspace account, see how she likes it. dumb bitch.
She got busted. So I guess, in the end, it doesn't really matter.
*cough*
no more taking pictures of my junk
Great, now he'll write a song about how traumatizing it was.
Linkin Park started off as a bunch of people trying to make a band, the whole point of people starting out is just that, to start out, to gradually become bigger.
So what if they're a part of some corporation right now? You seem to be the only whiney person argueing about this. And I'm sure that one fan doesn't matter, at all.
If you don't like them 'anymore' that's fine, doesn't mean that anyone has to share the same opinion that you do. So please, keep Engadget troll free.
I think what you're confusing as a corporate creation was actually Chester's contribution to the band. Because, that stuff you heard before they got picked up, that Xero stuff, that was sans Bennington. And, he is the one with all the issues. So, corporate machine? No. New singer bringing the band in a new direction? Yes.
Just had to clarify that.
This is like microsoft fanboys coming and hating on Nintendo news. If you dont have any thing good to say dont say anything at all
when keeping it real goes wrong.
"She got busted. So I guess, in the end, it doesn't really matter."
Haha
Sweet Biscuits
Shut UP, I had to try and get it through his dense head, which is what the problem was, I don't need a "-_-;" person calling me a troll, some might call trolling bringing up a day two old string of comments just to insult the person, wouldn't they? Just, no more damned replies, I'm outright sick of replying, this is equally as annoying as the band itself.
Good thing his phonebook wasn't leaked, unlike Paris Hilton's a while back.
Kind of a shame that this all happened, I sure hope the woman who got ahold of his details is punished accordingly, this is just low.. For a fan too -_-;
Well tough, I'm going to reply anyway. Because you suck, and I like annoying you. I said it ^-^
Somebody kill me in the face with a Kirby doll.
I don't care, never gotten replies before, and this is where I definitely didn't need them, nor were they even remotely necessary.
Ok, I love Chester Bennington and all but...I mean c'mon! Hacking into his cell? I feel bad for Chester's wife as well...poor girl. Oh well...life goes on, at least nothing REALLY BAD happened, rock on LP!
