Sigma SGM2 presentation remote and mouse will save the world
We're pretty certain that there isn't a gadget out there that can save the world as well as the Sigma SGM2 presentation remote and mouse. And for ¥3,480 ($30), just about everyone can afford to unleash their inner sci-fi superhero. The SGM2's crazy -- dare we say, futuristic? -- design has an inner trigger button that will probably make you feel as excited as that hairy-chested dude on the left. Better yet, when you've vanquished the purple octopus in the background (surely meant to represent your skeptical colleagues) you too can lift up the remote triumphantly in your board room. Still, we can't wait for the Sigma SGM2 straight-to-DVD anime movie to come out.

"Save the mouse and Save the WORLD!"
strider_mt2k @ Nov 25th 2006 9:29AM
Wow.
The world.
(And reportedly the only thing that can deflect a flying Wii attack!)
Nice to see it's endorsed by Squadron One on Moonbase Alpha anyway.
They're gonna party like it's Space 1999!

It about time someone did.

It is like cuban coffe, once you drink it will make your chest go hairy ;)!!
I can't wait to fight a giant octopus!!
Now seriously it would be cool to see the technology of the Wii controller into a mouse ;)

The hairy chested guys, are they all clones? Why do they all look alike?
eskimo @ Nov 25th 2006 12:09PM
Price and sci-fi aside, is it motion-sensitive or what? If it means FINALLY getting the upper-hand on my cousins on Battlefield 2 at christmastime, thirty bucks is worth it!

It's not a mouse, it's a trackerball! Come on now!
Plus, I don't think I would want the "Cancer/gun metallic" version!

You've got it backwards. The Wii remote is just reverse-engineered from mouse technology. Since Nintendo acquired Gyration, a computer peripheral manufacturer, they've been able to take the mice, slap on some new features, and tote it as the Wii remote. We've been using Gyration mice at our school for years.

My friend had a mouse that looked exactly like this about 4 or 5 years ago. Only difference is it wasn't wireless.
hoohoo @ Nov 25th 2006 3:05PM
its not wireless, matt. and i had one of these in '98. you can find them at computer fairs for $5.
Matt @ Nov 26th 2006 12:15AM
oh wow, it's not even wireless? Thats pretty weak. Why are they making such a huge deal out of it now?
Dirkus @ Nov 25th 2006 3:52PM
I tried something similar once, I think it was branded by Kensington (Not sure who the OEM was). It was called the "rocketmouse". It rocketed itself to the trashcan less than 2 weeks later. It sucked like a drunken cheerleader at a college after game party. Within a week and a half, the threee little ball-bearings that the trackball sits on had worn down and had flat spots, rendering the trackball function was nearly useless as the metal stumps ground into the plastic ball. It was an utter disappointment, and the cheapness of this product's advertising materials would indicate that this particular revision could only be worse. I'll just wait for Logitech to come out with their take on the idea, thanks.

this is cool, why dont they make something like this that works like a wii controller for PC? hope its wireless
