Princeton Technology's Bluetooth headphone adapter
Japan's Princeton Technology is set to release an iPod accessory for those not satisfied with the current crop of Bluetooth headphones, with its cleverly-named named "Wireless Headphone Adapter" providing a bring-your-own-phones alternative. You'll still have to find a way to deal with the headphones' existing wires, of course, but instead of stretching all the way to the iPod in your pocket (in this case it is strictly iPod-only), they'll now only have to find their way to the 3.5-millimeter jack on the remote in your other pocket. Those who prefer to wear their gadgets proudly can also make use of the remote's handy clip, although we suspect it'll attract a bit more attention than a shuffe if you wear it on your lapel. Look for the bundle to be available in Japan next month in your choice of white, sliver, or black for 12,800 Yen ($110), with the remote and adapter also available individually for 7,800 ($67).

How pointless is this thing?

That remote is smaller than the 80gb ipods and older generations. Thus, not completely useless. Smaller size in exchange for loss of the display.

Way to miss the neat feature on this Engadget. It also pairs with your mobile phone and let's you take calls on it while stopping the music.
Having tried a first pass at this (Naviplay) and settled on the wired-to-the-ipod-bt-to-the phone iTech Clip, it looks like Princeton are closer than ever to Bluetooth neatness. The only worry is the battery life of the remote, which has to drive your headphones.

Yah, this is sweetness. They do also have an iPod only version for 7,800 Yen, but the high-end one does work with your celly, too. Cool.

I have some questions.
How good or terrible is the amp driving the headphones? How good or terrible is the data conversion for transmission and then decoding back to analog? Would you plug your $100 to $300 Bose, Etymotics or Shure headphones to this thing.
Just asking.

Although I think it's overkill walking around with your ipod in one pocket and the dongle in the other, I was wondering if it can be paired this thingy with the imac, I just luv the idea of talking on skype(apparently there's a mic?) as well as listening to itunes with my current headphones away from the computer and my desk!
Also does the other bit turns the ipod into a blutooth device? just wondering ...
