Why go through the hassle (and
lines of fire) to get your palms on a shiny next generation system when game developers are still popping out fresh hits for your Sega
Dreamcast? You heard right, Sega's last flailing attempt in the console market still has a dream burning somewhere in
Japan, as recent reports claim that "Warashi will be porting its arcade shooter Trigger Heart Exelica to the system." The game itself is a "side scrolling shooter" that utilizes a "three button system" (
Genesis, anyone?) to take out your enemies. So if you're still hanging on to that (previously) antiquated console, and you don't mind games coming out some eight years after its release, then dust off the Shenmue and let it hold you over 'til the next big (and final --
right?) title lands on February 22, 2007.
That's beautiful.
Sweet Jesus, this is a mighty and glorious day in the world of gaming.
Really, the Dreamcast is my favorite console to date...Sega just never recovered from the Saturn, which was completely overshadowed by Sony...and then the XBox came in as a console for "cool" gamers. But Sega has always made the most entertaing, and mainly UNIQUE 1st party games.
Now if only they could come up with another Virtua Cop or Fighting Vipers for my Saturn...
i guess they got that license mighty cheap....
Well, there is still commercial software developed for the C64 so it's not that hot news.
I'm still waiting for my copy of Shenmue 4.
Where is it, Sega?
WHERE IS IT!?!?!
I knew this day would come! I wonder if other makers would seem fit to reissue old games or letting out some of those unfinished games like Castlevania or Half Life for Dreamcast...
Dream on, dream forever!
WHAT ABOUT MY INTELLIVISION?
That's vertical not horizontal/side scrolling.
Oh lord please give me the oportunity to finaly find a Dreamcast and FINALY buy it after years searching :S
I love Dreamcast. Seriously. It practically started the "new ways to game" trend. VMU, anyone?
Ah! Ebay has dreamcasts. http://cgi.ebay.com/Sega-Dreamcast-Game-console-gray_W0QQitemZ180055588810QQihZ008QQcategoryZ62054QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
dreamcast is one of my favorite systems. had amazing games, i wish sega continued to develop systems. dreamcast was amazing and a lot of fun. im happy that there are still games comming out.
I almost wish I hadn't sold my Dreamcast long ago.
Almost.
Ooga Booga is a kickass Dreamcast game! We still fire it up every few months for fun family smackahuna! I wish they would port that game to Gamecube or something.
Well now I don't need to track the Nintendo Wii's availability in Seattle, I can just get a new dreamcast game!!
Why not!
What about the homebrew scene? There have been several decent "kitchen table" games put out for the DC!
I'm in if its as good as Ikaruga...time to put my dreamcast back on the "gaming shelf"!!
Dreamcast was an amazing system!
I can't wait for this one. I picked up a Dreamcast way late in the game and I'm very happy that I did. I love the little thing.
these have been coming out periodically for a good few years now available from lik-sang.com . There was a new DDR type game not long ago. I'm gay for SEGA
hey dextro, i didnt think they were that hard to find. i tried selling mine last year with some games and i didnt get any offers. there seemed to be quite a few on ebay when i checked last.
Haha, I got my Dreamcast two summers ago from a local book store for $25, but mine's kinda noisy; is that normal? Still, I love my DC. It makes me sad... those words "one last game." Ahh, well.
Had kids party a few months ago and a room full of Xbox reared kiddies ended up playing my Dreamcast (it's actually turned yellow with age) there wasn't a hint of complaint, VR Rally, House of the Dead, Crazy Taxi, a huge fight erupted over the light gun, simply a superb console.
I'll never sell it..NEVER!
Man that little bugger had so much going for it. great price and great games. it even looked cool. maybe the best launch games ever (nfl2k, soul calibur, sonic, chu chu rocket, house of the dead 2).
It looked and played so much better than anything else at the time. It was probably the biggest leap in generations by a single machine ever (compared to N64 & PSX). Its failure was senseless.
I love my Dreamcast...Still have it...can't get rid of it...the thought alone scares me...
I need some more games for it :D
Too bad lik-sang.com is out of business thanks to Sony. I guess will just have to keep buying games off ebay.
