Build your own digestive table

It may sound like something out of a David Cronenberg movie, but the digestive table designed by Amy Young is in actuality only slightly less disturbing -- and, best of all, you can build one of your own if you've got the carpentry skills to match the plans. If you do, you'll soon be turning your leftovers into nutritious, sweet-smelling compost with the help of some hard-working worms and sowbugs that'll chew 'em up and spit out the results on the plants below. So as you don't miss a moment of that action, the table also comes equipped with a 10-inch LCD connected to an infrared camera set atop the compost heap, capturing the circle of life in all its stomach-turning glory.

Why? ...and wouldn't that stink? It looks like some sort of cloth or fiber bag hanging there. I'm sure it's not "smell proof". If you've ever left a glass of milk on the counter it tends to stink up the place pretty quick, and I can't imagine this would be any better.

I dunno what to say about this, other than it seems like it will help fight the umpteen frillion (yes, thats an official tally x.x;) tons of trash Americans make each year. Maybe not by much, but at least we're making mulch to grow plants, instead of dumping it all in a dumpster to rot.

Looks like it'd stink to me, do. Wouldn't it be loud? And just disgusting? And who would want to eat next to a compost heap?

Oh well, nobody said this thing was practical anyway.

I LOVE to compost AND my husband could build this, but there is no way I would want one. It would smell and not really work well indoors. I'll save my decomposition for outside, thanks.
