LaCie Huby brings the joy of USB and FireWire ports in a wacky stand
Looking for a wacky gadget gift to get your loved one? If you weren't inspired by any of the suggestions in our holiday gift guide, then perhaps the LaCie Huby will bring a smile (if not a raised eyebrow) to his or her face. Taking a page out of the PowerSquid playbook, LaCie has just come out with the Huby (that's pronounced "HUB-ee"), a strange-looking device that is not like your father's USB hub at all. This new post-modern bundle of joy comes with four USB 2.0 ports, two FireWire 400 ports, eight "flexible" USB and FireWire cables, eight "colorful" LEDs, a light and fan (both USB, of course), and a partridge in a pear tree. It'll set you back $80, and won't ship until late December -- we're not sure if that'll make it to you by Chrismahanukwanzakah, but that ain't nothin' that overnight shipping can't fix.

Great, and your comment was?
And what was yours?
And yours?
Mine is that I don't want to waste $80 on such an item.
Awww you had to spoil the chain of idiocy by actually making a comment.
Spoilsport.
IMO, something like this actually makes sense. My desk is chock full of wires, there's simply no way to avoid it. Rather than trying (and failing) to hide them all, might as well draw attention to them and make it look somewhat cool in the process.
However, it's going to look lame when you have black USB cables plugged into this white hub, so unless every single one of your USB devices has a white cable, eh.
I saw a review here too for the huby. I agree its way too pricey to buy, but the pictures are nice.
sorry, here's that review
