James Kim found deceased in Oregon wilderness
It pains us greatly to report that, unfortunately, James was found dead by airborne rescuers earlier today. Words can't express our grief concerning this terrible tragedy, so we'll simply close by saying that our utmost, heartfelt sympathies are with James' family, friends, and coworkers right now.

There are times when an opinion should be kept to yourself. Some may agree with you, but that's not a reason to express yourself inappropriatly. My two cents.

He had GPS. Moral of the story? Plan your route out using a real map, know your way, and stop traveling if road conditions get too bad.
Brett @ Dec 6th 2006 3:45PM
I hope he is alive!! I am praying for you!

I am very sorry to hear this. Losing a father is difficult, I know because it happened to me a couple of weeks ago. During this event, I have been hopeful that it would end positively. My thoughts are with the Kims as they figure out how to continue on with out a wonder father like James.

Kevin H @ Dec 6th 2006 4:05PM
I just don't understand why he didn't stay with his family. That was not a smart move to separate from them. Poor James!
Zak @ Dec 6th 2006 10:56PM
Kevin H, I just wanted to say that until you are in that same situation ( and may you never be) Don't judge any bodies actions. Sad news no matter who are the people concerned. He did what his heart felt was best and that was to save his family.
My thoughts are with his family and friends.
hannah @ Dec 7th 2006 12:00AM
ditto...so easy for you to say in the comfort of your chair. he stayed with his family for 9 days and had to make a decision for his family, considering no sign of help and lack of resources. he's a hero
