Sony's gaming division has a history of bad marketing in the early to mid stages of product life. Remember the "UR Not Ready" campaign? Only now have the playstation 2 ads gotten good. The PS3 ads are just horrible, wish they had just taken the PS2 campaign and added 'play beyond' after the 'live in your world, play in ours' tagline.
That whole 'this is not an ad' poster isn't so bad. If you just got rid of everything and left the Playstation button x-mas tree it'd be perfect. Right now, just like always, Sony's trying to hard to be cool instead of just being themselves.
My message to sony: Stop whoring the psp. Treat the 499 PS3 as the focus, and the 599 as the 'something extra' and just stop freaking out or you'll pull a Sega.
