Email Clock tracks your mail via irrelevant ticking method
A strong entrant into this year's "Not very useful, yet strangely unappealing" category, the Email Clock is designed to remove anxiety for compulsive email checkers by ticking off the kilobytes of mail as it enters your inbox. We're confused as to why this would stop anyone from checking their mail even more often, but we suppose we were always dim like that. Well, at least it's purty, as is version number two on the right.

Perhaps it is for people who have their email automatically downloaded, thus when the dial moves they know they have new email.
Of course any email client since 1996 that downloads automatically also tells you somehow that you have new email so... useless!
