Stop screwing around with mixing and recording in Garage Band, just pump 16-bit 44kHz sound right into your iPod with Belkin's new TuneStudio. A four-track XLR (with phantom power) mixer / recorder that uses your iPod as the medium, the TuneStudio also functions as a USB sound card so you can run audio in and out of your computer; you can snag your TuneStudio F9Z824 $179.99 for this summer.
The funny thing about this is that I came up with this exact idea about 1 year and half ago for a contest over at iLounge.com, where they asked contestants to create the "Ultimate" iPod Accessory. Here's the link:
yeah, Dan's render looks pretty sweet, too! this is gonna be pretty sweet for things like semi-mobile recording that needs a little production. i know i'm anxious for the reviews to start coming out...
The major problem is 16/44.1 But as said above I would also suspect Belkin not having the expertise that a real audio company would. There are no specs on noise, or reviews on how the preamp sounds. FYI I am using a presonus 4 in with a sony viao SRX87. I'm very happy with that
Lame with lamesauce and a side of lamefries. People laughed at the iPod DJ mixers, they're going to shit when they see people mastering recordings to an iPod.
yeah, uh, this seems pretty retarted. and i'm very much a fan of audio recording (one of my best friends has his own studio). this just seems sorta gimicky. why not just hook it up to the computer? i'm sure you'll have to edit it eventually. just sorta a tackon to gain attention methinks.
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.

Does it call up the spirits of composers past?
Sorry...
SICK!
S'ok John, someone had to do it ;)
Looks promising, but tons of knobs and buttons never promised a good product.

I should've gotten a patent or something...
Yeah Dan, and your device looks much better than the Belkin.
pretty! but I hope the iPod is not the only recording option.
If it recorded straight to a removable USB disk I'd care.
there's something about seeing an XLR connection on something made by belkin, i just don't trust it
This saves me about £300 should it come to the UK...
This thing is so cool, finally someone did this!

How is that different from recording into an iPod?
