Kohjinsha SA1F00A UMPC hands-on
Nice, we got to spend a few fleeting moments with the Kohjinsha SA1F00A convertible tablet UMPC. It's kind of pushing the boundaries of what a UMPC actually is since, well, as we said it's a convertible tablet, but it's a damned tiny and small one. It's also rather solid-feeling (hey, Japanese engineering at work). Image gallery, hop to it.

oh golly ....thats straight up sexy...any word on price or when its going to be available?
No image gallery?
If they'd take the border off that screen and expand the LCD a bit, I can see that being a contender.
Oh wait, the thing only has a 500mhz processor. Still good looking, but kind of a lost cause spec-wise.
to what i know, it doesn't have tablet function
well i hope what you know is wrong, i like tablet PCs like that
It's a 500Mhz AMD...

I've been working on a review of the Kohji.
First impressions, gallery and unboxing are already up.

The device is damn impressive. Quiet, light, small. Expensive too. Its only available as an import at the moment.

Don't let the 500 MHz processor fool you. I've had my Kohji since the second week of Dec and the machine is surprisingly usable. I spent two days with mine hooked up to and external display and keyboard editing a 100+ page Word document loaded with complex graphics and it worked great.
I have a detailed review on my Blog at http://superdave.blogdns.org/superdave/BlogEntry/2006/12/11
"editing a 100+ page Word document loaded with complex graphics"
That's not really impressive though.
Is it really a Tablet?
Anyways, looks good. But I'll just wait for a full review to judge it...
Hi,
I'm waiting to receive one of these... It looks like it could be a very useful machine for me (mainly for checking mails while commuting to work).
By the way, since the manuals for this machine come in Japanese and we are not many users outside of Japan, I thought that it could be useful to create a mailing list where owners can discuss anything realted to this beauty (where to buy it, repairs, tricks, etc. whatever is directly related to the Kohjinsha). So I created a Google group (which anybody is welcome to join) at http://groups.google.com/group/kohjinsha-sa1f00-users
Cheers,
