D-Link quietly kicked out the DSM-750 MediaLounge Wireless Media Player, a new digital media adapter with draft 802.11n WiFi. By now you probably know how these things work, this one let's you stream internet radio and supports playback of h.264 and VC-1 video files (and we presume several other major video and audio formats as well, though the release doesn't get too specific). Also has Ethernet, HDMI, component video, digital audio, and composite A/V connectors, and a USB 2.0 port for connecting up an USB mass storage drive.

Lets hope that this one actually works via wifi. I've tried each version of their dsm something and in every case no matter how close you were (right next to it) to the AP it would stutter on video playback.
So lets just hope it actually works on wifi this time around.

In general I like dsm-750 a lot. Still 3 major wishes:
1. d-sub or dvi output for pc monitor. Sometimes I'd like to use this equipment separately.
2. screen saver. Keeping receiver on all day long on mu plasma burs static characters in. I dont like it!
3. D-Link server software is too slow, If you have 5000+ tracks or so. In this case I recommend for example TwonkyMedia server.

Why don't they have a gigabit ethernet port on it. That would make it possible to chose wether to go wireless or wired.

Why would you need a Gigabit Ethernet port? Even very high bit rate HD only needs around 35-40Mbps so FastEthernet is more than enough for a long time to come for wired streaming.
