XM and Bushnell get busy, create first GPS device with XM Radio and Satellite Weather

Bushnell and XM announced their new waterproof ONIX 400 portable GPS device today. A world's first apparently, to pack real-time XM WX weather data and XM Radio. And listen up sportos, it also delivers an enhanced sports scoreboard with user interface, sports statistics and scores. The device features a 3.5-inch, 320x240 pixel display, 64MB of internal memory, MicroSD card for data and map services, and rechargeable Li-Ion battery. Battery life and pricing was not announced but we can expect the ONIX 400 to hit sometime this summer.

Might want to change the title. Garmin has been doing this with the StreetPilot series for years (XM + Satellite Weather).

This post says it has the "real time XM WX", the street pilot only gets weather basic, it's like hitting weather.com.

Nice faux aqua interface at the top and bottom of things.

Mr, Ricker needs to get his facts straight. Garmin has been doing the GPS/weather/radio thing for a pretty good while now. Its amazing how these people actually post these kinds of articles without doing any reserch. I bet the writer probably was given one of these units to ummmm.... "test" just so they would say.. "Look, its the first unit EVAR!!!" Kinda like how MS did with the ferrari laptops.

We can get picky on the semantics of everything, but it seems like to me that the big deal is that the XM receiver is "pack"ed into the device. So it is built in.
The Garmin XM0-capable receivers use external antennas.

Oooooohhhhh that is one fantastic unit.

Garmin 396C and 496C have the same capabilities, so that makes them first.

Mike....read the previous posts.
Someone already brought that up and I pointed out it was the first with the XM built-in and not via an external receiver.
I'd hate to carry my GPS out hiking and have to fight with a dangling cord to an antenna in a backpack.

It would be nice if the GPS location data can be used for getting local weather information.
