You won't color us surprised to find that
another Asian company has
knocked off one of Apple's
products, and we certainly aren't shocked that this time around it's
iOPS (
again). The firm's X11 is crafted from white or graphite aluminum, comes in at just 9-millimeters thick, and boasts a very, very familiar click wheel mechanism. Regardless, this
PMP offers up 1/2/4GB capacities, and features a 1.3-inch color LCD, rechargeable Li-ion battery, JPEG / text viewer, FM radio tuner, built-in equalizer, USB 2.0 connectivity, and upgradeable firmware. On the audio front, it supports MP3, WMA, and OGG music files, while it plays nice with AVI, MPEG4,
DivX,
XviD, and WMV video files, and although we aren't certain of how much coinage this thing will require (if it actually makes it to market, that is), this looks like a very functional alternative to Apple's rendition if you get the itch to import.
Wow, looks nicer than apple's mp3 players :p
Is this X11 network aware? Can I use Beryl with it?
How would tunneling this over ssh compare with vnc?
It has a nice Retro feel to it, although a slightly bigger screen would have made it a bit more attractive.
put a bigger screen on it and I think that thing could actually sell
Looks classier than Apple`s "let`s make everything white" design concept. I used to laugh when I`d go to Fry`s and see the nerds playing with the Apple "let`s make everything clear" computers and peripherals a few years back. The all cheap white plastic look is also long in the tooth now ;)
I can never understand why wound you want to watch a movie on such a small screen. Lamo! Thats why I bought a large HDTV.
Looks similar to my Cowon iAudio U3
pathetic. I guess no one cares about making cool stuff anymore, besides Apple.
Should even bother listing how uncomfortable this thing would be to use?
The screen is pointless to start. Kills batt-- Nevermind. It'll disappear.
