Sure the Xbox 360 has awesome games like Gears of War, but what good is all that bloody carnage when all the other
next-gen systems have motion sensors? We were just ready to throw in the towel waiting for that extra level of game play, when modder Adam Thole answered our calls. Investing about two-and-a-half weeks worth of time, he was able to put together a fully-functioning wired 360 controller with a 2-axis accelerometer -- and he makes the hack seem pretty straightforward. There are a lot of details on his site for those looking to emulate this mod, and Adam claims that he may even hack a wireless controller for version two. So keep on clicking for a vid of this hack-tastic mod in action, and then hit the Read link for the full deets...
I realize that no one will prbly see this cuz it is really old but i have leaked info of the next xbox 360 update and it isn't final but one of the items on the list for hte update is as follows "6. Calibration options for motion sensor devices", along with the option for donating microsoft poitns and other cool things, but this update is the best becasue it tells us that microsoft is in fact making a motion sensitive controller for the 360 and since it is an update they can make it usable for ALL games
and to the person taht says 360 sux, fuk u, cuz the ps3 is huge, overpriced and a piece of shit, and the only good game for wii is SSBB
seems pretty cool, wonder if this would e able to use on the 360 remote control as well?
to bad its fake and there is another dude in the room playing with a wireless controller.
true
Halo 3 anyone?
Yeah, that's a wonderful experience.I have a doubt-are they familar with each other on the principle of operation!
Too bad MS will never make a controller like this......they could if they wanted to but the Wii and PS3 controllers seem more advanced with motion sensing and the games are designed wiht motion sensing in mind
"Too bad MS will never make a controller like this......"
They did... nearly a decade ago.
Yeah... I remember that one... the sidewinder something for the PC
Obviously he was talking about MS making a motion sensing controller FOR THE XBOX360.
ffs. read between the lines, its not that hard.
AS MikeB said, Microsoft was the first console to put out a motion sensing controller. It just wasn't a standard like the Wii's or PS3's. Since it wasn't a standard it would only be to a game makers disadvantage in most cases to design a game for it. I'm sure the new motion sensing controllers are superior to the old xbox one, but it does get tiring hearing people say that Sony ripped off from Nintendo.
Not to be a poindexter, but Nintendo developed the motion sensing controller way back in ~'93-'94. It WAS supposed to be the primary controller for the N64, but Nintendo felt that it was too early for it. To Nintendo's credit they did have another motion sensing controller that did release, even before that, way before that. It was called "The Power Glove" There were a few games specifically created for it, most memorably, Glove Ball & Super Glove Ball for the NES. I'm not going to repeat what people already know about Sony vs Nintendo, besides, Sony hasn't been sued by Nintendo yet. Sorry "Anonymous" but it is what it is.
great and handy that the controller has motion sensitivity, but it's pretty useless til they build in functionality into the games. good luck with that
Watch the video; it looks like it just does what the left analog stick does normally, so it can be used with almost any game.
Isn't that what he's doing in the vid? Using it with a game?
Ahem!

give your props!
MS stated before that they may make one for 360 before 360 was launched. when/if itll come out is anyones guess though.

Just me, or is there a bit of lag on the Crimson Skies controls?
Now there is no reason to get a ps3 320 FTW!
Wo0t! 320 FtW!!!
Yeah baby!
Exactly, and it's such a simple hack that I'm surprised no one thought of it before. He's just hooking up some accelerometers and wiring them to the control stick's connections. Any game will work because the system just thinks he's using the stick. It's actually a really good idea. He should try marketing it as a third party add-on, but I doubt he can hook it up without cracking open the controller and MS would say no no to that.
micro$oft should definitely be reading this for 360 v1.3

Well why not. It's more money for them, more fun for gamers. They'll surely bring it in, with time, or perhaps they're working on an even *better* plan [shifty eyes]
And yes he's using it to play a game, but what they mean is, the games aren't fully compatible with the motion sensing techonology. With the PS3 and the wii (i've only played the wii) the games were made knowing that people will be using the motion sensor. Some of them have other uses than what the left and right buttons on a normal controller would do.
wow can i get this anywhere? , how can you make this??
This is the most worrisome issue going against the Wii.
There have been hacks of people using the Wii to play HL2; the PS3 has their sixaxis controller, and now this.
I want the Wii to succeed, but I think it's only a matter of time until the other console manufacturers come out with their equivalents.
While the 10-year-old Microsoft controller did have similar features, it wasn't a standard. However, the controller was made with the PC in mind - an open market; with consoles, it's a completely different ballgame. Standards can be enforced anytime.
Remember when the N64 launched with that funky controller? Sony one-upped them with the Dual Shock. Copycat, yes, but it worked. Who's to say that Microsoft or Sony won't pull a similar maneuver with their top-of-the-line consoles?
In terms of sheer horsepower, both PS3 and Xbox360 can blow the Wii right outta the water. Hell, they could probably run Wii games via emulation! Nintendo's Wii-Remote isn't exactly revolutionary either - nothing truly fancy or innovative inside (it's just extremely well implemented). I bet Nintendo right now are racking their brains trying to come up with their next console design, because in terms of sheer horsepower, they can't compete, and their trump card (motion-sensing, acceleration and all) can be played by the competition anytime - if not this generation, the next.
And of course, it's every gamer's wish that, irrespective of whether you think gameplay is more important than graphics is more important than gameplay (and so on), the ideal combination is innovative interaction combined with groundbreaking graphics.
I think what will be truly interesting is to see how this generation's war, and the next generation's, pans out for Nintendo.
I think MS needs to develop something like this into their gamings, which would be pretty easy as someone has suggested that it's basically a substitute for the analogue control stick. That said I think development of this into future games would allow for better binding of controls, and the added option of disabling it altogether, should you wish to do so.
WELL, First off, yes this would be very awesome if ms put motion sensor in the 360 controller, becuz, quite frankly, 360 to me really doesnt feel next gen, more like a souped up xbox that has some good graphics. Dont get me wrong here, i love it to death, gears, dead rising and oblivion along with all the xbox marketplace downloads kept me on my couch for weeks on end, and i LOVE IT. But if this was an addition it would feel more next gen, seeing as sony and nintendo did some kind of motion sensing, but hey you dont always have to be in the in crowd. Plus the sixaxis aint that great in ps3, i played my uncles and it sucks.
i think the fact that people are willing to pay 200 dollars(so far..) for this mod, should be evidence enough that there is a desire for motion 360...despite any ones personal belief.
wow...you guys are geeks. stop fighting over this and wishing you could do the same thing. this guy is a wiz so dont rag on him.(he also has too much time on his hands)
Well obviously other systems are ganking ideas from the Wii... Umm sorry guys but nothing competes with the nintendo systems..... mario... Zelda ... you just can't get any better than old time classics... I lvoe Halo and all, but seriously.... What a flaming idea....
you could probably re-configure the control settings of a game, so that the motion does a whole lot more! and if microsoft does decide to put something like this into production, they stand to make a lot more money in controller re-sales. they could also start making motion sensing games specifically designed for it. i have no doubt it will happen, hey, microsoft is american right? and we are all greedy bastards in this country.
god bless the home of the free :)
This controller is sick...I want one lol is ther anyway possible to buy one off you or something lol?
fuk you you xbot n00bs ps3/wii pwns u and will gates' microTOss
