Gizmondo units available on the cheap
It looks like those trying to round out their collection of handheld video game systems now have a decent chance at picking up one of the more infamous entries in the class relatively cheaply, with a lot of 15 Gizmondo units recently turning up on eBay and bidding not exactly going through the roof. While original games for the handheld are few and far between, you should still be able to put its built-in camera and PMP functions to good use, not to mention load it up with any number of the "homebrew" games available for the system. We wouldn't worry too much if you're not lucky enough to score one this time around though, with these likely only a sign of future cut-rate systems to come.[Thanks, John W]

Thanks Engadget! The price is going to fly now :P
i never really did understand the gizmondo...
gee does ti come with about a dozen propreitary batteries too?
no thanks I'll stick with my gp2x instead of that batman boomarang thing....
On the hardware side of things, it looks pretty good, wonder how hackable this thing is.
I'd rather have the bumper from the Enzo.
It does exist! Now, what about those "Smartadds" versions! XD
I have plenty of experience with the Gizmondo (Worked in the only kiosk booth in north America that was selling them...still haven't been paid). It is a TERRIBLE system. I wouldn't even get one if it was $10. Would be much happier buying cheeseburgers.
course you would fatty.. gizmondo is an ok system it is hacked up to the brink. alot of emus running already from gba to nes i tihnk we have a port of the psx emu in beta. we just need more modders who would be interested in the gizmondo... its a quite powerful system ignoring the games that were made for it as their quite dull it has alot of things going for it when you strip it down... engadget can you link my site gizmondoforums as its possibly the best place to start with modding and getting emulation. thanks :D
Your an ass, Gizmondos' are great.
WOW THERES GIZMONDO FANBOYS!^^^
Well, a FANBOY.
Fanboys?
Hehe...
Count me in... love the system.
Ciao
I'd buy one. Its a fine powerful system, but unfortunately was run into the ground by crooks and incompetents.
They have ONE UNIT on ebay right now.....great story engadget.
Neat, it'd be the perfect compliment for my Zodiac and N-Gage. Has there been progress on making it easier to run unsigned code? I'd like to make a game where you score points by wrecking an Enzo in the most spectacular way possible.
But how does the bidding work? It says 15 units... do the 15 highest win?
heh..
You can run unsigned code on it :)
NB: Three fanboys on the list now ;)
looks like theyre on ebay again. its unfortunate the software doesn't match the hardware but whos saying that you have to use the stock software?
