Now that Steve Jobs is throwing us all for a loop with this brand new
"Thoughts on X" series of his (please let it be a series, we're dying to know how he feels about season three of Lost), we thought it would be appropriate to remind ourselves of his glorious RDF moments of yore, and there didn't seem to be much of a better way to capture it all in a nutshell than this, um,
repetitive video of his favorite RDF-inducing expressions. If that's not enough of his Steveness to wash that crazy "transparency" taste out of your mouth, you could always peep that second read link for a nice collection of his better moments in front of a camera. Long live NeXTStep!

er what the ****? Every single human on the face of a planet has phrases thery use again and again, it's just what happens.
Also why does engadget seem to hate the fact that Jobs has written an open letter about DRM? Maybe because that actually made the news while your own attempt (though laudable) didn't.
Repitition is good and he probably makes a bizillion per repitition. And what do you guys make, 10 cents a post? No wonder you hate Jobs.
This seems a bit random?
Steve is a legend.
I find it utterly ridiculous that anyone can talk negatively about Steve's open letter on freeing music of DRM software. He makes it quite clear why he supports it and it makes absolute sense!! If you can't see his sincerity then I feel sorry for you.
Well done Steve for writing that letter.
Steve's letter is a facade and if you are too ignorant to read between the lines, well I don't feel sorry for you, I really don't care either way, but you should read more before you praise someone known for greed and double talk.
The letter was a misdirection. Apple is getting a lot of pressure from Norway, France and Germany to open up iTunes since Apple has a monopoly on music devices and digital distribution. This is Apple's response. Basically he writes off the first option since it's what consumers want to hear. He writes off the 2nd option since it would be a big hassle for them. And he gives us the 3rd option, the golden savior... oh except he knows it'll never happen. All he is doing is passing the blame and telling the consumer to do something about it, where he is the one with all the bargaining chips.
Think about what you read people, don't blindly follow. Apple has a lot of great products, but they are no innocent corporation. Don't take everything at face value. His numbers are just fancy math as been pointed out by many articles and posters and don't mean what he says them to mean.
I'm not bringing this dicussion here, there is already a 4 or 5 page thread about it on Engadget in the drm letter post. Go there and read that for a deeper understanding.
Stay on topic, this was just meant to be funny, it's not a stab at Jobs. Stop being such a fanboy.
The video was very random, the editing made him sound autistic at times...
Speak no ill of Jobs engadget, for you shall incur the wrath of millions. He does no wrong even in the slightest.
So get back to the vista bashing and Gates vitriol, for that is the way things must be.
APPLE DEFENDERS UNITE!!!
*smirk*
You may be right with regards to him passing the blame, but it doesn't negate the fact that DRM is crap. Sounds to me like you might jump on board with the RIAA. There's plenty of stores that don't use DRM. eMusic, Beat Port etc etc. They still make money. The big record companies "are forcing" stores to use DRM. Jobs concerns are valid and regardless if he's passing the buck or not, we'd be better off without DRM. Just charge less for the music, eliminate DRM and more people will purchase it.
Jobs is right when he says that no DRM is better for everyone, especially consumers.
U R N !D!0T
Sorry, but anyone who has read Engadget for at least a month knows how much they hate the iPod and hate the iTunes Music Store; so seeing yet another pointless Apple-bashing story is not surprising, even considering that it's not even attempting to be newsworthy or address anything relevant. That's par for the course at this site.
Explain that comment?
Apple bashing?
Engadget hates Apple & Jobs?
You obviously don't read the site properly, or let your own views colour what are generally pretty balanced opinions from most of the contributors.
MS, Apple.. hell, most Consumer Electronic / Computer / Software / Whatever firms have had praise and scorn from Engadget, (and other sites, like Gizmodo).
This is a joke, much like the editors here rag of Ballamer and Gates in a similar fashion. Doesn't mean they don't soil their pants when Windows Mobile 6 is released, or the iPhone.
I'm surprised that video didn't include his curious handling of the word "Automatically". He uses it all the time in his keynotes.
"O-doh-matic-ly"
Ya nailed it Nij
Really, that's all you got? Enunciation?
"It's huge!". Steve Jobs been using that since the day he saw Bill Gates package.
My point is not that we wouldn't be better off without DRM... fuck the RIAA, you know, I AM a consumer too.
My point is that jobs doesn't mean what he's saying and people are buying it. He's just telling people what they want to hear to make himself look better.
Well I disagree with you. I think that it makes more sense not to license a fee to third parties and run around trying to protect a format when the ideal solution is to remove protection. I think jobs recognizes this and the pressure from Norway has forced his hand.
It appears as if he is the first man of influence to come out and say it publicly (regaurdless of what his motives are) STEVE HAS MAJOR CAHONNES for doing so. Jonathan you eat it! and so does Engadget!
FLAME ON!!!
I wonder if this was a video of Bill Gates doing the same thing, would the first three comments be defending him...
I like to read engadget but I don't appreciate posts like this. At the end of the day, Steve is a human being who is using his skills and beliefs to sell his product. So is everybody.
It would be nice if engadget focuses on gadgets and what people say about gadgets rather than trying to find faults with the people advertising them.
it would be nice is you and those that ranked this comment would impart the same courtesy towards the other industry leaders.
@ Sundy
Apple is not a monopoly. Learn what one is before you go spouting off like a toolbox.
I think you missed the point. Apple is essentially contractually obligated to not open the platform. They are liable for any breach of the DRM. Ergo, anyone that thinks the FairPlay platform should be opened up needs to take it up with the music industry.
PS Employing the term "fanboy" really serves no purpose other than to inflame the other side. But you just had to get that last little jab in, didn't you? It reveals you.
Steve Jobs is a friggin' cult leader. Plain and simple. Just listen to how he speaks and how the drones follow, clapping their hands at anything he says.
P.S. http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/story/0,,2006031,00.html
you forgot when he says "ootomatically" and "boom"
OMFG people. Seriously, you take this thing as an insult, or APPLE bashing??? Get each others heads out of your asses. I love little videos to watch on engadget, its not insulting, just something to pass the time, makes the site fun and interesting. Jesus, i want to slap most of you right now. Its fun to watch, its not a video that like, "ERR F Jobs, hes a double douche".
