Toshiba's G900 QWERTY HSDPA TyTn killer
Looks like Toshiba's bringing the pain to HTC's TyTn with their new G900, a new 3GSM-bound Windows Mobile device that is sure to raise a few eyebrows. Besides the familiar looking face, this Windows Mobile 6 Professional phone will have an insanely high resolution 3-inch WVGA (800 x 480) display (wait, WinMo supports WVGA?), biometric scanner, 64MB internal memory, miniSD slot, tri-band HSDPA, 802.11b/g, Bluetooth, USB, video calling, and supposedly also have USB On-The-Go. No more word than that just yet (we just came by early pics from the show floor on the internets) but it's only a few hours until 3GSM gets underway in Barcelona, so we're sure to hear more then.

But will it run Window Mobile 6 Professional Basic, Premium, Ultimate, Ultimate Limited Numbered Bill Gates Signed Edition, or Ultimate Limited Numbered Bill Gates Signed Edition - Now Includes a flake of His Billness's toenail?
Oh, and when does the "Wow" start for mobile devices?
Sigh...
Man, your ever-so-succinct humor really impresses me.
Three versions of WM6:
Professional for touch-screen smart phones.
Standard for touch-screen-less smart phones.
Classic for phone-less PDAs.
Not that hard, is it?
Don't you think your masterful grasp on humor can be put to better use elsewhere?
hi, you must be one of those apple people who has nothing better to do on their computer but search for and denounce anything that has to do with windows because his steveness can just do no wrong! (and you think we are the lemmings)
ROFLMAO!
Anyway I'm declaring this year the year of the cellphones.
AKBlade13
PS: This looks cool.
Wifi?
It clearly says 802.11 b/g
so yes it does have WiFi
Stoked about the screen resolution!
Bummed about the thickness and the lack of built in memory.
Would like to know if it is USB 2.0 - most usb on phones is only 1.1 which is amazing to me as it is incredibly slow and 2.0 has been around for quite a few years (technologically speaking)
But no GPS. Haha. TyTn/Trinity have GPS.
you can always use some bluetooth gps device
I predict that this is the Toshiba phone Microsoft rebrands for the Zune phone.
Probably will never make it to the U.S.
wow.... 64mb of memory. How very 2000. Hmmm, never thought I'd say that. WHY CAN'T ANYONE JUST GO AHEAD AND START MAKING PPCSMARTPHONES WITH AT LEAST A GIG! IT'S FRIGGIN OBVIOUS! DO I HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE IPHONE OR IS EVERYONE JUST BLEEP FOR BRAINS??? HUH!?!?
The Dualcor cpc ran at 800x480, so yes WinMo does support WVGA
The TYTN has gps? I don't think so! Some people need to think before they make fools of themselves.
It has a gpsOne chip, but lacks the antenna and drivers to enable it.
Trinity on the other hand has it all enabled with a ROM update, using it right now.
Yes, TYTN does have GPS on chip but it is not enabled. PPL have enabled it and see Sats now. It is only a matter of time when everything will work on it. AND you may have just made an ass of yourself and not the other way around.
Am I the only one that fails to see the point of USB-OTG? With only 64 internal and miniSD as the only expansion option, I can't see USB-OTG being terribly useful.
HTC Kaiser (successor of HTC TyTn) will have GPS and will be very small...(http://www.mobilitysite.com/2006/12/htc_road_map_for_2007.php)
But USB on the go and the WVGA 800 x 480 resolution of this Toshiba is nice. I hope the Toshiba application to lock and unlock your pc when device goes away/returns (using bluetooth) will be available for other devices to.
