We've been waiting for that super-chip that combines, you know, all the things we need in a mobile -- SIM, phone memory and USB 2.0 support. Samsung's new-n-improved SIMs
will now support the MultiMediaCard format (MMC) as well as the USB 2.0 and InterChip-USB interfaces for mobiles. The dual standard is to give handset makers flexibility in the transition as they decide which USB interface will make the grade. The S-SIM
-- as it's been called -- auto-configures based on what it detects in the handset. We really do fancy that newest SIM with 1GB of storage right onboard. Now all we need are the handsets en masse.
