We're not at liberty to say how, but we acquired some exclusive footage of Samsung's new Ultra Messaging device, which is going to be hitting Asian shelves in short order. What's so special about this particular brand of i600? Check out the interface. We've seen some future builds of Windows Mobile beyond the now-current 6.0, and this is starting to look very familiar. If this is where WinMo's headed, sign us up -- let's just hope all the stuff behind the home screen gets cleaned up this nice, yeah? Don't be surprised if at some point the Samsung Ultra Messaging (or at least its UI) starts to to head westward across the globe.

Does this mean you could load his UI on current Blackjacks?
Ryan Block @ Feb 23rd 2007 12:32PM
In theory, yes (on a BlackJack with WM6, that is). When someone hacks this up to work on WM6 I think everyone should be able to use it, nothing technically binding this to the Ultra Messaging.

Well thats good. Now all I need is a Blackjack with WM6. What are the chances Cingular offering free upgrades for a recent purchase?

I'm totally calling Bob Saget.
Oh yeah, this looks sweet as hell.

More info on this device at http://aving.net/usa/news/default.asp?mode=read&c_num=30033&C_Code=01&mn_name=news.
Damn!, it has WiFi, I'm totally sold to this beauty ;)

that was not windows mobile 6. that was windows mobile 5. i can tell because when you look at the soft keys, you can see a white stripe above start and the other soft key. that is only in wm5. i have wm6 on a 8125 and it does not have that stripe, nor do any wm6 standard screenshots i have seen. that is just a nice samsung designed home screen.

put this on something as powerful as the new Ultimate series coming out in a much sexier package, and I will be incredibly happy
Michael van Goethem @ Feb 23rd 2007 6:02PM
Am I the only one who thinks this UI looks familiar to the Windows Media Center UI in Vista?
Nice :)...
Brian @ Feb 23rd 2007 7:40PM
Yeah, this looks like Photon.
I can't wait for HTC's first Photon device. >_
Ike Turner @ Jul 3rd 2007 8:46PM
Any more info about this interface?? Not sure that it is photon. Maybe a custom Samsung interface on top of WM5/6 ?
phelipe @ Feb 25th 2007 9:31PM
oh yes baby this is Photon?
Chris @ Feb 26th 2007 10:02AM
Very sexy my only complaint is... why only max 10 favorite contacts? maybe i want 15?
Brian @ Feb 24th 2007 3:42PM
No, this isn't Photon, but it is Photon-esque, as Ryan Block mentions. The interface in Photon is designed to cut out stylus use as much as possible, making it easier to use with one hand.

Let's all call Bob Saget, who apparently lives in Chicago!
