Only male, dork, losers, that still live in their parents' basements, still have the desire or ability to invest the money required to pursue a hobby with such a high cost:benefit ratio. It's not rich people. Rich people don't play games on their PCs.
I see your sort with my own eyes all the time: you're a bunch of freaks. In the last 2 years or so, I've not met a SINGLE PC gamer that wasn't a weirdo in some way.
That's a pretty sweeping generalization don't you think?
PC Gaming a waste of money? All entertainment is a waste of money if you're going to be so objective about it. When I go to a bar I don't wake up the next morning and say, "Oh man, I have so much to show for that night out." The enjoyment you get while playing is what you paid for.
There are millions of PC gamers. I'm sure you'll find that if you gathered up every male dork living in his mom's basement together, it would not even remotely constitute the number of PC gamers.
Perhaps you should use your brain a little more before making rambling criticisms.
Yes and do you know why they went down. CAUSE EVERYBODY DOWNLOADS WAREZ/TORRENTS! Back then there wasnt as much illegal software and stuff now there is
You clicked through to this article with the title "Intel's Crestline integrated graphics to run DirectX 10", what confuses me is just exactly what is interesting about this article to you since you are obviously not in the "gamer" camp. Do you really have nothing better to do with your time? If this is true, then you Brian are the social reject.
That aside, your statement is entirely inaccurate, heres why.
Lets say you buy a game for $50 that you will play for 100 hours in its lifetime. Lets also say that every 2 and a half years this hobby requires an investment of $500, and we'll assume that the total enjoyment from this investment is about 500 hours, which is probably a low estimate. This would mean that the hourly cost/benefit ratio is about $1.50 per hour. Granted that this is a back of the envelope calculation, but the point is pretty clear.
Eventualy there will be no consoles (the PS5 might be the last) What is a PS3 but an expensive computer A computer that has a small percentage of the computing power of a pc and all you can do is play games and watch movies...Boring, Try doing your taxes on your PS3!! Eventualy there will be no consoles The people that create games like crysis know this and thats why they spend so much of there resorces on PC games
Why do you think microsoft started up the Games for Windows program Because there smart, Because when the xbox and playstation consoles are no longer economicly fesable and discontiue production, microsoft will be left being basicly the only way to play games (unless you play on your retro console)

You're a pretty huge moron. Like you're actually going to convince people to stop gaming on the PC or something.

FYI Vivendi Games alone (parent of Blizzard) had a 2006 revenue of over €800,000,000. That's over a billion dollars US.
