Sagem releases world's tiniest Bluetooth headset, the H4
In the quest to continue driving down the size of cellphone handsets these days, the quest to make the tiniest (and hopefully most usable) Bluetooth headset is not far behind. Remember when the Nextlink Bluespoon was claimed to be the world's smallest Bluetooth headset? Those days are long gone and Sagem has announced that it now has the world's smallest Bluetooth headset. We better call the Guiness Book of World Records (at least for today), as the Sagem G4 claims that it "could be" the world's smallest (nice cop out), at 35 x 18 x 12.5mm -- and weighing just 8 grams as well. Performance, you ask? Sagem claims 5 hours of talktime and 100 hours of standby, and charging time is only 1.5 hours to boot. Cost? 53 British pounds, or about $103 greenbacks in U.S. currency, but right now, there's only a teaser at Sagem's website -- and it's supposed to be available some time this week.[Via Pocket-lint]

i have an industrial design question: why do all these things have "in use" lights on the side if you can't even see the light when it's in use. Unless you look in the mirror.
I think the Apple one lacks one, right?

I had a Motorola Miniblu (H5?) for a while ... i DESPIRATELY wanted it to work, i loved the size, and the in-ear design made reception almost as good as having the phone up to your ear. But, man, did i ever feel bad for whoever i was calling (other than the fact that it was *me* on the other end) ... the microphone (or whatever jaw-bone-vibration technology it used) was simply terrible, i became afraid to use it because i simply knew the only conversation i was going to get from the other end was a plethora of "WHAT?!"
If Sagem fixed this, i'm in line, but i'm VERY skeptical from what Moto brought to the table.

You do know that Motorola never produced the H5 and that it was cancelled right? The ones found on eBay are all pretty much fakes. Motorola is coming out with the Miniblue H9 though.

Can I use 2 at the same time and have earbud stereo bluetooth headphones? (intentionally stupid question)

All true. Thanks for the insight!

A good example of micromania.
Why bother shelling out so much for this just because of its size, when you can get something that actually fits to your head, stays comfortably, and has better all around quality for even less?
I swear, it's impossible to understand this obsession.

You sir, have never played MGS and fantasized about hunkering down and having your headset work by the vibrations in the small bones in your ear talking about stopping a bipedal nuclear tank.

I had a Bluespoon, it was a piece of crap. Stupidly short battery life and a range of about three feet. The earpiece it came with was useless too.
I'll stick with the Jabra I keep going back to, thanks.

Uhhh.....
HELLO!
Nextlink has the 5G [I own one] that only weighs, you guessed it, 5 grams!!!!!
Thats 3 grams lighter than this one...
....so I think Nextlink still has the worlds smallest bluetooth headset.....
And, yes! it is VERY useable......
Soul_man_uk23 @ Feb 28th 2007 3:30AM
Looking at the dimensions of the nextlink and this lil microbe they are...
nextlink: 35 x 22 x 14mm
Sagem: 35 x 18 x 12.5mm
But the nextlink claims to get 7-8hours talk time (can anyone confirm this??), where-as this claims 5?
If it indeed does and then for those out there who like to go long stretches without charging would you want to buy something just a nats wing smaller and this compromise?
I wonder whats next something the size as a inner ear head phone?
Oh and nice one: R3AL1Z3 @ Feb 27th 2007 8:22PM

It's shown briefly in the keynote. If you watch just the iPhone introduction video on Apple.com, it's at 1:02:20.
